Fans have spotted a job listing that may suggest MLB The Show is making its way to PC in the near future. Console exclusivity has been slowly falling out of favor across the gaming industry in recent years, and Sony has launched many of its former exclusives on PC as part of that trend. Now it seems like the sequel to MLB The Show 25 could be the next title to make that jump.

Several games from Sony-owned studios have already come over to PC. PlayStation games like Helldivers 2 and God of War Ragnarok are available on Steam and, after a recent change, don't always require a PSN account to play, either. However, not all Sony series have left consoles, but if a new job listing is what it appears to be, there could be at least one more franchise to follow the trend before long.

Job Listing Suggests MLB The Show Is Coming to PC

A recently posted job listing reveals that San Diego Studio, the Sony-owned brand behind MLB The Show, is hiring a PC developer. According to the listing, the company is "making a AAA PC title," which seems to refer to a future MLB The Show game, as the sports franchise stands out as its largest and most notable IP. The baseball sim is a natural fit for PC, too, considering it has been available on competing consoles for a long time now. The series has even regularly come to Xbox Game Pass on day one, although MLB The Show 25 broke the four-year Xbox Game Pass streak, but despite this long history of being on Microsoft systems, it hasn't made it to PC yet. The next entry could be the one to change that.

A PC version of the long-running baseball series would also make sense in light of PlayStation's live service ambitions. Games like MLB The Show and Helldivers 2 drove more than 40% of Sony's first-party software revenue in a recent quarter, despite some live service titles not working out as intended. Bringing a success like MLB The Show to a wider audience could help Sony double down on its long-term goals and make a bigger splash with its live service games.

Of course, there's no confirmation that MLB The Show is the "AAA PC title" in question. Even if it is, it's unclear if MLB The Show 26 or 27 will be the first entry in the annually released sports series to make it to PC. There are also rumors that MLB The Show could come to mobile devices, so there could be big news for the franchise ahead.
