How Long is Modern Warfare 3’s Playtime?

Based on previous Call of Duty campaigns, the Modern Warfare 3 campaign should take players roughly 5 to 8 hours to beat. However, this varies depending on the difficulty setting players choose and whether they acquire all collectibles. A significant difference between the MW3 campaign and previous COD campaigns is the Open Combat Missions, which offer various gameplay approaches. Due to this, the campaign may take as long as 10 hours to beat, depending on the approach players select.

The Modern Warfare 3 campaign has 15 missions, some taking several minutes to complete and others up to 30 minutes to beat. Luckily, the Modern Warfare 3 campaign will be available for one week, so players have plenty of time to complete the missions. They can either run through the objectives in one sitting or break it down into sessions.

Players who want to finish the campaign quickly and don’t care about acquiring all collectibles can play on Recruit. However, those who prefer a challenge and want to unlock all rewards can select a more difficult setting but should know it will take longer to complete. Unfortunately, the campaign is strictly solo play, and there’s no option to go through the missions with friends. The co-op feature will only be available once Modern Warfare 3 officially launches.

The Modern Warfare 3 campaign is a direct sequel to Modern Warfare 2, and throughout the story mode, players will unlock four operators - Jabber, Corso, Doc, and Pathfinder. Completing the campaign earns players a completion emblem and a weapon blueprint. There are also numerous campaign rewards in every mission, including weapon double XP tokens, so playing the campaign is worthwhile.
