Players will encounter the Monster Gate puzzle towards the end of Indiana Jones and The Order of Giants, after escaping from Ricci's Basement. Once players approach the location, they'll spot a large circular mural on the wall with several cultists gathered around it for a ceremony. You'll need to defeat all these cultists before solving the Monster Gate puzzle.

To defeat the cultists, you can use melee weapons lying around the area and kite them through different hallways. This approach will help funnel them into tight corridors, making the fight a lot more manageable. Once everyone is defeated, here's how you'll solve the puzzle itself.

Put the Tiles on the Monster Gate Mural

The first thing you'll have to do is find three different tiles scattered around the Mural and put them back up. Each tile belongs to an animal on the mural, so you won't have a difficult tile arranging them back in order.

Once all the tiles are up on the mural properly, a little hatch will pop up under the scorpion's symbol to the bottom-left that you can get a cogwheel from. You'll need to insert this cogwheel into the pedestal in front of the mural to start solving the Monster Gate puzzle.

Rotate the Mural to Identify the Correct Symbols for Animals

Now, check the animals on the four pillars around the room, which will be a scorpion, snake, horse, and raven. You'll need to correlate these animals with the mural, and check what number they're assigned on it. The next thing you'll need to do is use the Cylinder to rotate the mural to that animal's specific number and wait for it to come on top.

  • Horse is III
  • Scorpion is VI
  • Raven is V
  • Snake is II

Carefully see the symbol under the animal on the mural; these will be the correct symbols that you'll need to align on the pillars under the specified animals.

Rotate Pillars to Match Symbols Under Animals

So, after checking out an animal's correct symbol after rotating the mural, you'll have to rotate the corresponding pillar with that animal to match the symbol it has on the mural. Once you're done with one animal, repeat the same process for all other animals until all pillars reflect the correct symbol under each animal.

After aligning all the pillars to match the correct symbol under each animal, you'll need to use the Cylinder on the Monster Gate mural to open it up, and complete the puzzle. A pathway will open up that will take players to the ending of Indiana Jones and The Great Circle: The Order of Giants DLC.
