Niantic and Capcom have announced a second phase of Monster Hunter Now’s crossover event to celebrate Monster Hunter Wilds’ release will be taking place. Monster Hunter Now has only been on the market since 2023, developed by Niantic and designed to use the player’s real-life locations to offer monster avatars to battle. Now’s terrain map refreshes every 24 hours, and the game featured several types of terrain, six weapon types, and 13 monsters from Capcom’s Monster Hunter series at launch.
Monster Hunter Wilds is the latest main entry in the IP due to release on February 28, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series users. Launching as a successor to 2018’s Monster Hunter: World, the game’s second open beta test recently concluded after an extended period, and Monster Hunter Wilds’ release time has also been revealed to the public, so Hunters know exactly what time they can jump into the Forbidden Lands.
Monster Hunter Wilds Challenge Gives Players Chance to Get Free Armor Spheres
Capcom is giving Monster Hunter Wilds players an opportunity to earn free Armor Spheres before the game's launch later this month.
To celebrate season 5’s imminent arrival, Monster Hunter Now confirmed that the Chatacabra, a monster that will make its first-ever appearance in Wilds, would be joining the mobile game on February 28, continuing the crossover event with the action RPG game. Monster Hunter Now announced the first phase of the Wilds crossover event back in January, breaking down how players can earn bonus items before the game’s release, including gift codes that can be used to obtain Mega Potions, Energy Drinks, Dust of Life, and more.
Monster Hunter Now Announces More Crossover Perks With Wilds
The mobile game will then welcome the debut of Arzuros and another familiar monster. Glavenus was teased for a series return in the Monster Hunter Rise expansion Sunbreak, and both monsters will join the line-up once the new season officially begins. Now’s season 5 update will introduce several enhancements to weapon types and skills, alongside a pool of new features including a system that allows Hunters to trade specific materials for rewards. It’s fair to say fans of the franchise are looking forward to season 5, with many excited about Glavenus’ arrival being a fan-favorite creature.
With just over a week until launch, Monster Hunter Wilds has already announced its post-launch plans, and one content drop will welcome a majestic but powerful monster to the roster. It was confirmed that Wilds would receive a Free Title Update in Spring 2025, adding the serpentine leviathan Mizutsune to the Forbidden Lands, which uses dance-like attacks and mobility-linked bubbles to dominate the battlefield. Additionally, Hunters can also expect Event Quests to drop during the week after Wilds’ launch.
