Pale Bone is a material in Monster Hunter Rise that is used to craft and upgrade various weapons and pieces of armor. In order to obtain this material, players must target a very specific source. Monster Hunter Rise: Pale Bone Location

Players that are looking to obtain some Pale Bone should set their sights on Khezu, a large monster that is initially encountered in Monster Hunter Rise's Frost Islands. While this monster can be found during expeditions, there are three Low Rank quests that specifically instruct fans to hunt it. Those quests are A Pale Shadow (2-Star Hub Quest), Faceless Foe (3-Star Village Quest), and BZZZZZ or ZZZZzzzz (5-Star Village Quest), and players are advised to initiate one before traveling to the Frost Islands.

Upon locating Khezu, players should focus on breaking its head. Indeed, this is the best way to earn Pale Bone, as the material has a 12% chance to drop when such a break occurs on Low Rank. For the uninitiated, a monster's parts can be broken by striking them repeatedly, and sever, blunt, and projectile weapons in Monster Hunter Rise are all capable of shattering Khezu's skull.

Players should also plan to capture Khezu rather than kill it at the end of their hunts. To perform this action, fans should attack the monster until it begins to limp, then trap it with a Shock or Pitfall Trap, and then hit it with a Tranq Bomb. While some players may be resistant to spending time gathering those items prior to their hunts, there is incentive to do so, as Khezu has a 10% chance to award Pale Bone upon capture in Low Rank.

Finally, Monster Hunter Rise players have an 8% chance of receiving a Pale Bone simply by completing one of the aforementioned quests in Low Rank. While fans that are in need of the material are better off not relying on that target reward exclusively, it is notable nonetheless.

One last thing to mention is that it is possible to obtain Pale Bone from Khezu in Monster Hunter Rise's High Rank, but the drop rates are not the same as they are in Low Rank. More specifically, there is a 16% chance of receiving Pale Bone when breaking Khezu's head in High Rank and a 10% chance of earning it as a target reward. These percentages make Low Rank hunts a better option for farming the material, though only by a small margin.
