Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection has nailed down its release date as March 13, 2026. While Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is also planned for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, Capcom has shown some favor to the Nintendo Switch 2 version with the release date reveal, unveiling it during the September 2025 Nintendo Direct livestream.
Differing itself from the action RPG format of most Monster Hunter games, the Monster Hunter Stories spin-off series is played out in turn-based action, as Riders steal and hatch monster eggs into Monsties who go into battle alongside them. The first game in the series was originally released in 2016 exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS, but its popularity led to it being ported to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PC, and mobile devices.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection Release Date
- March 13, 2026
The latest Monster Hunter Stories game was first announced in late July at the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase. A trailer released at that time stated that Capcom was targeting 2026 as a broad release window, but new information revealed at the September 2025 Nintendo Direct live stream has solidly set March 13, 2026, for the game's official launch. A new trailer released for that showcase shows that many popular mechanics from the first two games will be returning, including the hatching and raising of Monsties and the reliance on a more traditional JRPG battle system than what players could expect from a game in the mainline Monster Hunter series.
Despite the Monster Hunter Stories series having a more cartoonish look than its main series counterparts, the story revealed in the new trailer still has some serious undertones. While still carrying an adventure-based anime-style feeling, the trailer opens on a legend stating that both members of a pair of monsters cannot be allowed to live, which will likely be a key motivator for the game's noble protagonist. It also shows off world exploration that looks similar to the gliding mechanics in games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Genshin Impact.
Fans will likely be able to learn quite a bit more about the upcoming game on September 24. Capcom's lineup for Tokyo Game Show 2025 includes at least eight different titles, with Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection being among them. It won't be the only game from the franchise featured at that showcase, as presentations are also planned for Monster Hunter Wilds and Monster Hunter Outlanders, showing Capcom's serious commitment to its monster-battling franchise.
