Capcom has officially confirmed that Monster Hunter Wilds' second major post-launch update will be adding a popular feature from Monster Hunter World, bringing back layered weapons. The newest entry in the long-running Monster Hunter franchise brought plenty to the table for fans to follow up Monster Hunter Rise, adding a plethora of new Monsters, new mechanics, and changing up the game's world. Monster Hunter Wilds introduced thirty-five Monsters between its small and large creatures, including the Jin Dahaad and Rey Dau. Now, the game's next major update is bringing back a fan-favorite feature.

Monster Hunter Wilds' second "Title Update" is set to bring plenty of new content to the game, including a fan-favorite Monster from previous games. Capcom has heavily teased the Lagiacrus as the new Monster coming with Title Update 2, serving as the first time the electrifying Leviathan has appeared since Monster Hunter Generations. The developer also revealed that the next major Wilds update will introduce more 8-star "Tempered Monsters" to the game, bringing more powerful versions of pre-existing Monsters. Fans looking to improve their Hunter's style are now in for a nice perk in Title Update 2.

As reported by ComicBook, Monster Hunter Wilds' Title Update 2 will be adding a long-requested feature from Monster Hunter World. An official update from director Yuya Tokuda revealed that Title Update 2 will feature the return of Layered Weapons, allowing players to further customize the looks of their Hunter. Layered Weapons allow players to set a Master Rank weapon to take on the appearance of another, all while maintaining the same statistics and benefits of the original. The update did not share many specifics about how Layered Weapons will be implemented in Wilds.

Layered Weapons returning to Monster Hunter Wilds joins plenty of other exciting content updates coming to the game. Aside from the previously-mentioned Lagiacrus, Monster Hunter Wilds recently introduced its first crossover with the Version 1.011 update, adding Akuma from Street Fighter 6. The collaboration not only includes a full armor set allowing players to take on Akuma's appearance, but also a collection of special associated items granting access to some of Akuma's signature attacks.

With Monster Hunter Wilds' next major update on the horizon, Capcom has continued to introduce smaller content patches since the game's launch. The previously-mentioned 1.011 update added five new Tempered Monsters to the game, introducing powered-up versions of the Gore Magala, Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Nu Udra, and Jin Dahaad. The patch also saw changes to several different weapon types, including the Hammer, Gunlance, and Light Bowgun among others. Monster Hunter Wilds' next Free Title Update looks set to bring plenty of exciting changes to the game this Summer.
