In fact, this second open beta session is letting players go hands on with a slice of the game even longer than anticipated. Due to an unfortunate PlayStation Network outage for nearly a day beginning on February 7, Capcom is extending Monster Hunter Wilds' second beta by a full 24 hours. Monster Hunter Wilds Director Secretly Joined Player Matches During the Beta

Monster Hunter Wilds Director Yuya Tokuda admits to secretly joining players during the beta as a way to further gain insight and data.

Recently, Capcom uploaded a couple of short Japanese ads to its YouTube channel, quickly hyping the game before its launch. However, some of the shots included in the short clip teased the return of a classic Monster Hunter 2 creature that had yet to be revealed in any capacity. While Blangonga was included in a recent Monster Hunter Wilds leak, this is the first official confirmation of the returning fan favorite, even if it is incredibly brief around the 19 second mark of the ad.

Fans Love the Surprise Monster Hunter Wilds Reveal

Longtime fans may remember the baboon-style creature from Monster Hunter 2, finally brought forward into the modern era. The creature retains the same look as longtime fans will remember and its inclusion in the trailer seems to have pleased many in the Monster Hunter community. Comments on the video were largely positive with fans excited to square off against this new take on the classic monster, while others wonder if Blangonga was one of the reasons that Monster Hunter Wilds added its Power Clash system, where players earn a unique animation if blocking a monsters attack with perfect timing.

Naturally, the series is known for bringing back monsters in newer iterations of each game and Wilds is no exception. In fact, Monster Hunter Wilds has tons of creatures to fight, from new entries like the octopus like Nu Udra, to returning fan favorites such as Rathalos, Rathian, and Gore Magala to name a few. It's clear based on these short ads that Monster Hunter Wilds likely has plenty more unannounced content waiting for players to find once it launches later this month.
