As revealed by KAMI on Twitter, the second Monster Hunter Wilds open beta, which began on February 6 and runs until February 9, has already reached a 24-hour peak of 225,964 concurrent players on Steam. The all-time peak, set four months ago during the first beta, stands at 463,798. Another testing period is scheduled to take place from February 13 to February 16, but these numbers already suggest that as one of the most anticipated games of 2025, it is on track to be another popular title for Capcom.

Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta is Already Posting Big Player Numbers

The first Monster Hunter Wilds beta gave exclusive early access to PlayStation Plus members on PS5, but the current testing phase is open to all players with a compatible system from day one. This beta includes all content from the first, such as Story Trial, Character Creation, and the Slay Doshaguma Quest. However, it also gives players the chance to try out a new challenge: the Hunt for Gypceros.

Monster Hunter is widely known for its challenging gameplay and relatively steep learning curve, especially for newcomers. The open beta provides a great opportunity to explore the map, practice with weapons, and experiment with cooking and items. While it has many limitations in terms of technical features, it still offers a valuable chance to get familiar with the game before its full release.

With the February launch of Monster Hunter Wilds fast approaching, the open beta numbers suggest the game is already shaping up to be a big hit. Fans are flocking in droves to check out what the developers have packed into this much-hyped title before it hits shelves on February 28.
