Monster Hunter Wilds has officially unveiled its Street Fighter 6 collaboration, bringing Akuma, Cammy, and Chun-Li to the game. Fans had already anticipated the crossover following a tease during Monster Hunter Wilds' first title update showcase. Now, Capcom's popular action RPG has revealed all the details of this highly anticipated partnership.
Speculation around Monster Hunter Wilds' upcoming collaboration reignited earlier this week after the game's Twitter account shared a logo that closely mirrored Street Fighter 6's art style. From that point on, the community was almost certain which Capcom title would be featured. The only question left was the scope and details of the crossover, which are now confirmed.
New Monster Hunter Wilds Weapons May Be Off the Table, But There's Still Room for a Shake Up
Despite Monster Hunter Wilds putting the kibosh on new weapon types early, there's still time for something similar to creep in.
In an official blog post, Monster Hunter Wilds revealed the Akuma, Cammy, and Chun-Li skins. As some of the most popular picks in Street Fighter 6, their addition makes the collaboration even more exciting for many Capcom fans. All three will be available as armor sets and layered equipment, with Akuma offered as a free reward for all players. Cammy and Chun-Li, however, will be released as paid DLC when Monster Hunter Wilds' next update goes live on May 28.
Monster Hunter Wilds' Street Fighter Collab Details
- Akuma hunter full armor set and layered equipment
- Blanka-Chan Palico full armor set and layered equipment
- Cammy full armor set and layered equipment
- Chan-Li full armor set and layered equipment
- Blanka-Chan pendant
- Street Fighter 6 stickers
- Hunter Profile background, nameplate, and pose
The new collaboration adds a unique twist to Monster Hunter Wilds' combat by introducing some of Street Fighter's best special moves, including the Gou Hadoken and Gou Shoryuken. As shown in the update trailer, Akuma can unleash a rapid series of melee combos powerful enough to take down tough monsters. His hand-to-hand combat damage is tied to the player’s weapon and equipment setup in Monster Hunter Wilds. Basically, equipping him with stronger weaponry will boost his DPS.
Alongside Akuma, Cammy, and Chun-Li, another Street Fighter character is joining the world of hunters. Blanka-Chan, Blanka's iconic doll, will be included in the upcoming update. Unlike the other three skins, Blanka-Chan will be added as one of Monster Hunter Wilds' Palico armor sets. For those unfamiliar, a Palico is a companion that provides utilities like buffs or additional DPS alongside the party.
The new content arriving in the May 28 patch doesn't stop there. Players can also get a new Blanka-Chan pendant and a set of Street Fighter-themed stickers, as well as Hadoken, Shoryuken, and Tatsumaki Senpu-kyaku gestures. Notably, these gestures will have attack properties, allowing players to use them in combat.
