Monster Hunter Wilds Adding Layered Weapons in Title Update 2
Monster Hunter Wilds is Adding Layered Weapons

Monster Hunter Wilds director Yuya Tokuda reveals that Layered Weapons will soon be making a return in the franchise's newest entry.

Among the confirmed changes for Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 2, Capcom revealed that players will soon be able to toggle off the glowing aura that appears on hunters due to certain active skills and item effects. This option will not be limited to the Grand Hub, allowing for a cleaner aesthetic during exploration and combat across the Forbidden Lands. The change will go live with the release of Title Update 2 later this summer. Players have long requested a way to reduce screen clutter caused by visual effects, especially in multiplayer hunts where readability is key. While Monster Hunter Wilds' Steam player count has seen a decline, Capcom’s upcoming update may bring hunters back to the game.

Monster Hunter Wilds Adds Fan-Favorite Feature

Monster Hunter Wilds players have shared their appreciation for this feature in the comments to the official announcement. Some of them shared ideas for next features to add to Capcom’s game, such as an option to hide the HUD, the removal of minimal range for Spread Ammo, or the ability to hide their weapons when hanging out in the Grand Hub. Capcom hasn’t yet revealed if one of these features will make it to future Monster Hunter Wilds updates.

In addition to gameplay tweaks, Monster Hunter Wilds recently launched a crossover event with Street Fighter 6. The collaboration added new themed gear and cosmetics inspired by iconic characters from Street Fighter 6, new combo attacks, an Akuma full armor set, and the recreation of the Drive Impact system. This crossover also brings Chun-Li and Cammy outfits to Monster Hunter Wilds so that players can hunt in style.
