Moonlighter is a roguelite that provides a refreshing blend of dungeon crawling and shop management. Basically, the gameplay loop revolves around exploring dungeons to collect loot, all in the hope of selling these items to turn a profit, and all of this is presented through a vibrant art style. The structure is simple and addictive, and you will spend as much time fighting bosses as you will price-gauging (and exploring other mechanics like crafting). To succeed, you will need to master both sides of the equation, and the process can be slow-moving while you are still coming to grips with everything.
Along with planning and executing dungeon crawls, you also need to know how to sell items at the best price for the right customer. The latter is built on trial and error, and learning Moonlighter's best item prices is a part of the fun. However, there could be situations where you might prefer to skip the guesswork and just learn the ideal price list. If that is the case, this guide should help.
Updated on September 9, 2025, by Mark Sammut: Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault will enter early access on October 23, 2025, so the wait for the sequel is almost at an end. While it remains to be seen how "complete" the upcoming version will be, there is always the option to revisit the original game, which is available on both PS Plus Extra/Premium and Xbox Game Pass. We have added a bit more information on each dungeon.
Perfect Price Explained
With the freedom to set prices for your loot, there is a balance to be struck between selling cheap to build your popularity and setting a high price so you can actually profit. A perfect price is essentially the highest value an item can go for without adversely affecting the shop's popularity in this roguelite.
Once you have the perfect price, you can continue to make adjustments upwards or downwards. This can help shopkeepers take advantage of items that are popular during a certain period, or if the clientele happens to be loaded with cash. To help you make sense of things, here's an extensive list of the various items that can be obtained in Moonlighter, and the perfect prices for them:
Perfect Prices for All Items
Golem Dungeon
- Number of Floors: 3 (With Boss)
- Boss: Golem King
As Moonlighter's first dungeon, Golem Dungeon is designed for beginners and, consequently, is fairly simple and easy. While you will not get rich from looting this dungeon, you will be able to pick up basic artifacts to get going, allowing you to craft quite a few useful items that you can sell for a decent profit.

Forest Dungeon
- Number of Floors: 4 (With Boss)
- Boss: Carnivorous Mutae
Unlocked for defeating the Golem King, the Forest Dungeon is only marginally harder than the Golem Dungeon, although it does offer a far better range of items. Compared to its predecessor, you will want to spend more time in this dungeon, as it will enable you to stock up on quite a few useful items.

Desert Dungeon
- Number of Floors: 4 (With Boss)
- Boss: Naja (Desert Guardian)
After completing the Forest Dungeon, the Desert variant will become available, and it marks a somewhat notable increase in difficulty. Still, this dungeon is not extremely hard by any stretch of the imagination, and you should not struggle too much with the boss, Naja, as long as you have a suitable ranged weapon that can make short work of them.

Best Shop Simulator Games
As a niche offshoot of the management sim, these excellent Shop Simulator games task players with designing and managing their own retail shop.
Tech Dungeon
- Number of Floors: 4 (With Boss)
- Boss: Energy Flux (Technology Guardian)
The last "standard" dungeon of the base game, the Tech Dungeon, is by far the hardest of the main four, but it also comes packed with a wide range of fantastic artifacts that can be used to craft pricey items that you can sell in your store. Once you clear the dungeon and defeat the boss, you will be able to access the Unknown Dungeon, which does not have artifacts to collect.

Wanderer Dungeon
- Number of Floors: 10 (With Boss)
- Boss: Enraged Wanderer
Added to Moonlighter as part of the "Between Dimensions" expansion, The Wanderer Dungeon becomes available once you complete the five main dungeons, so you will need to work to get access to this content. If you only have the base game, you will not be able to play this dungeon; however, the expansion is included as part of Moonlighter: Complete Edition.

New Game+ Item Prices
Price Spike (That Is Somewhat Negated)
While the focus of this article is on the standard prices within a normal playthrough, Moonlighter also features New Game+, a mode that was introduced with 2018's Adventure Update. Unsurprisingly, NG+ offers a considerable difficulty spike, which impacts both dungeon crawling and the shop simulation elements.
The latter mostly comes in the form of significant price hikes, as item costs are multiplied by roughly 5.6 in Moonlighter's New Game+. In theory, this sounds like a massive increase that could slow down a new playthrough to a crawl, but the game allows you to hold on to any money collected during the previous run. Therefore, you will likely start NG+ with a healthy sum of cash that should make up for the price increase. As you also keep a few of your items and receive access to new equipment like the Pirate weapons, NG+ is a bit easier than it might initially seem. Ultimately, if you love Moonlighter but want to add a bit of a twist to the formula, this mode works well as an option.
