The team developing the Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind mod, Morrowind Rebirth, has released a new 7.0 update, marking a major milestone in its history. Morrowind Rebirth's first release for The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind was in 2011, but the development team has remained committed to the project over the years.
Like many Bethesda games, modding is a key reason why Morrowind remains remotely relevant to this day. The game currently has over 13,600 mods on Nexus Mods, with creators utilizing their talents to add to Bethesda's 2002 RPG. Even with more recent titles like Skyrim and Oblivion Remastered, there are some who hold Morrowind up as their favorite Elder Scrolls title, made even better by dedicated modding community. Some Morrowind mods are good enough to be standalone games at this point, such is the talent of modders online.
The Elder Scrolls Single-Player Expansion Pack Tier List
The Elder Scrolls games feature a variety of expansion packs that enrich the lore and tell incredible stories, but some are better than others.
The Morrowind Rebirth mod recently launched its 7.0 update, with the patch notes available over on ModDB. As well as a bunch of miscellaneous fixes and changes, it also adds tons of new content to the popular Morrowind mod, which first debuted 14 years ago. This includes new creatures, armor, magic clothing, weapons, spells, and more, making up for a nearly fourth month wait since the last Morrowind Rebirth update.
Morrowind Rebirth describes itself as a "total overhaul for The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind with the aim to enhance the game by rebuilding the world, by rebalancing most aspects of the game, and by improving the graphics." While Morrowind Rebirth updates haven't always arrived quickly, it's hard to deny that the development team is doing a great service by continuing to improve a classic title in such an extensive way. 7.0 is a major milestone for Morrowind Rebirth, and hopefully, there's still plenty more to come.
With The Elder Scrolls 6 frequently passing unfortunate release milestones, jumping into something like Morrowind Rebirth could be a great way to fill the void for the time being. Bethesda hasn't shared any concrete information about the game for a long time now, and it doesn't seem like it's releasing any time soon. That's why modding is so great, though. While Bethesda takes its time with new releases, players can still have new Elder Scrolls content to enjoy via mods.
Morrowind Rebirth 7.0 Patch Notes
Morrowind Fixes
* Fixed hundreds of wierdly (floating, partially underground, angeled in an unatural way etc) placed wickwheat plants in the Grazelands region. This is a work in progress due to the huge amount of plants.

* Added more clutter to the exteriors of some Dunmer Strongholds.

* Added a bit more clutter to the docks/labour town.
