Troy Baker has been revealed as the voice of Jack Pepper, the protagonist of Mouse: P.I. For Hire. The announcement coincides with the game's new trailer, which premiered at Summer Game Fest 2025.

Developed by Polish studio Fumi Games, Mouse: P.I.For Hire is a first-person shooter inspired by the style of the early Mickey Mouse cartoons from the 1930s. It was originally teased under the working title Mouse before receiving its official name and first gameplay trailer in August 2024.

Fumi Games and Australian publisher PlaySide Studios have premiered the latest Mouse: P.I. For Hire trailer during Summer Game Fest 2025, revealing that Troy Baker has been cast in the role of the game's protagonist, private investigator Jack Pepper. In true noir fashion, the events of the upcoming game will kick off with a damsel in distress, sending Pepper on the trail of some of the seediest characters in the fictional city of Mouseburg.

Despite its hard-boiled detective story, Mouse: P.I. For Hire will play like a fairly traditional first-person shooter. The game promises to offer a varied assortment of comical weapons and upgrades, which can be combined to dispatch enemies in many creative ways. Its 1930s animation influences extend beyond the visuals, with the game also set to feature a retro jazz soundtrack inspired by the very same era.

Troy Baker Will Star in At Least Three 2025 Video Games

Mouse: P.I. For Hire marks Troy Baker's third confirmed video game project planned for a 2025 release. The celebrated actor will also be the voice of gym enthusiast Kristof in the upcoming dating simulator Date Everything, which is scheduled for a June 17 release. Baker will additionally reprise his role as Higgs Monaghan in Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, set to launch on June 26. Unlike those two titles, Mouse: P.I. For Hire does not yet have a confirmed release date. However, if the project remains on track for its original 2025 launch window, its release date announcement could arrive by late summer or early fall.

Mouse: P.I. For Hire is in development for the Switch 2, Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It's expected to hit the market as Fumi Games' debut title. Separately, the Polish studio is currently also working on Galaxi Taxi, a vivid shoot-em-up promising intense boss fights and a deep vehicle customization system. Like Mouse: P.I. For Hire, Galaxi Taxi is still waiting for a release date. No pricing details have yet been attached to either of Fumi's upcoming titles.
