Last week, Wizards of the Coast announced that it would be collaborating with Sony to release a new Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair Superdrop themed around various PlayStation games. This Superdrop, which is going to come out on October 27, will feature characters, items, and locations from The Last of Us, God of War, Horizon, Uncharted, and even Ghost of Tsushima. The sets included as part of this collaboration will each contain five Magic: The Gathering cards, and they will be available in both foil and non-foil variants. Like most Secret Lair products, they will only be manufactured in limited quantities, but the non-foil versions of the sets will be coming to WPN game stores at a later date.
The Last of Us Part 1 and Part 2 are both getting their own sets. Likewise, God of War is also getting two sets of its own, one themed around the Greek Saga and another themed around the Norse Saga.
Out of all the properties that are being featured in this Superdrop, the one that sticks out the most is Ghost of Tsushima. Although Sucker Punch's stunning samurai game is one of the most successful PlayStation first-party titles from the last decade, Ghost isn't really a proper franchise just yet. God of War, Horizon, and Uncharted all have several installments, but there is only one Ghost game currently, though a sequel to Ghost of Tsushima is set to be released in the next few days.
You might think that Sony would have given a long-running franchise like Ratchet & Clank or Astro Bot some representation in the Superdrop instead. However, the fact that it picked Ghost of Tsushima specifically may be a sign that there will be more to come from this PlayStation x Magic: The Gathering collaboration in the future.
Ghost of Tsushima is Coming to Magic: The Gathering as Part of a New PlayStation Collaboration
Wizards of the Coast hasn't officially revealed all the cards in the PlayStation-themed Superdrop yet, but it accidentally uploaded images of them to the Magic: The Gathering website a few days ago. Although the company quickly removed these images from the site after fans started to notice them, they can still be found quite easily on social media. This leak has revealed all five of the cards that will be featured in the Ghost of Tsushima set. In addition to the already-announced "Jin Sakai, Ghost of Tsushima" card, the set will contain "Path to Exile," "Borne Upon a Wind," "Ghostly Flicker," and "Castle Shimura."
On the official PlayStation Blog, it's stated that Sucker Punch and Wizards of the Coast worked together to ensure that the Secret Lair x Ghost of Tsushima cards would represent the "emotional arc" of Jin's journey "from samurai to Ghost" as accurately as possible. While the cards do seem to accomplish this task quite well, the launch date of the Secret Lair drop itself is of particular interest here. Given that both it and Ghost of Tsushima's successor, Ghost of Yotei, are coming out in the same month, one can only wonder if Sony and Wizards of the Coat secretly have plans to give that game the Secret Lair treatment as well.

Ghost of Yotei Could Get Its Own Secret Lair Set Next Year
Ghost of Yotei is a standalone sequel that's set hundreds of years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima, and it follows an all-new protagonist named Atsu. In the game, Atsu is a wandering mercenary who goes on a quest to find and kill a group of renegade samurai known as the Yotei Six, who brutally murdered her family when she was young. Since the two titles have completely different settings and characters, the Secret Lair x Ghost of Tsushima cards aren't really connected to Ghost of Yotei whatsoever. Because of this, Sony and Wizards of the Coast could still release a potential Secret Lair x Ghost of Yotei set a few months from now without it feeling redundant.
If a Secret Lair set for Ghost of Yotei is actually in the works, it would make sense for Wizards of the Coast to release it next year, once people have actually gotten a chance to play the game and experience its story themselves. Like with Jin Sakai, the company could give Atsu some cards inspired by her journey in Ghost of Yotei, perhaps by portraying her more dishonorable nature as a mercenary. Wizards of the Coast could even make a card themed around the Yotei Six or the titular Mount Yotei on the game's cover art. Regardless of what Wizards of the Coast depicts in them, though, cards like these would almost certainly attract the attention of many avid Magic: The Gathering collectors.
