Finn the human from the Cartoon Network show Adventure Time is categorized under the Assassin class in MultiVersus, and is one of only three characters in the class right now. He shares the spot with Arya Stark from Game of Thrones, and Harley Quinn from the DC universe.

Assassin class characters strike a balance between dealing one hit high damage and vanishing off from a hard position. Although they sound powerful, it is without the doubt that the class is the hardest to play in MultiVersus. Players need to use utmost precision and perfect timing to get the best damage yields, and the same is true for Finn.

Finn's Basic Attacks

MultiVersus Finn The Human is a fast and deadly Assassin class

While playing as Finn, it is important to take note of his passive ability. With every strike and combo that is unleashed upon his opponents, Finn is rewarded with coins to collect, which comes in handy with his specials. He is also one of the rare characters that can move around either way while charging up his supercharged moves. If truth be told, he can make players wonder if he is a touch overpowered in the game.

Move Type Move Name Description
Neutral Ground Chop With this supercharge move, Finn charges with a heavy downward sword slash at his opponents.
Neutral Air Slam-A-Bam-In-A-Can! This basic mid-air soccer kick can break enemy armor.
Side Ground Swordwork! This three-hit combo attack has Finn wield his magic with the sword. Each hit deals significant damage, and the attack knocks down the opponent caught in the action.
Side Air Flying Sword Moves! This mid-air two sword slash combo can deal with heavy damage. The second slash is a chargeable hit and requires players to key in the second input.
Up Ground Slasher Another supercharge move, Slasher has Finn charge a forceful upper sword slash that thrusts both the opponent and him into the air.
Up Air Sky Punch This basic mid-air one-punch hit deals low to moderate damage based on the class of the opposition.
Down Ground Low Blow, Bro Finn moves around with his sword facing downwards on the ground, charging his move. The attack not only breaks the opponent's armor, but ends with a three-hit heavy impact combo that deals excessive damage.
Down Air Ground Chop Finn launches into the air and slashes his swords downwards.

Finn's Special Attacks

Multiversus - Finn Using His Backpack Attack
Move Type Move Name Description
Neutral Ground Special High Five Dude Finn's ground special is highly dependent on his High Five meter gauge. The higher the fill, the higher the impact. Finn can either use his High Five to smack enemies and send them flying off the ground, or to bat back enemy projectiles coming his way. When around an ally, Finn fires a shockwave that protects him and his ally while dealing significant damage to opponents near them.
Neutral Air Special Same as ‘Neutral Ground Special,’ but is done in midair.
Side Ground Special Get Skroned Players should use this move with utmost precision when using this move, as it punishes them for a miss. Finn thrusts forward with his shoulders and can either knock off enemies in the way or block down projectiles fired at him. However, if Finn misses either during the attack, he will pant for a second or two leaving him open to enemy attack. On the other hand, if the attack manages to hit an enemy or projectile, he will not need a cooldown time and can move swiftly.
Side Air Special Mathematical Air Dash Do not be fooled by the name, although it sounds cool. The midair move is a very basic side charge sword slash, which deals low to moderate damage during the charge and heavy damage at the end sword slash.
Up Ground Special Backpack Attack Finn brings out his coin bag and whirls around like a tornado, dealing damage to any or all opponents near him. However, this move is directly critical to his passive ability, as mentioned earlier. The more coins collected, the heavier the bag is, and the more damage the move deals.
Up Air Special Same as “Up Ground Special”
Down Ground Special Sweet Deals This move stands out as a Finn special. Finn digs into his backpack and has an option to pull out items in exchange for gold collected with his passive abilities. He can choose from:
  • Stacking Boots: increases the team's overall speed
  • Booty Butt: provides the shield armor to the team against enemy projectiles
  • BMO: an attack robot that allows Finn to use a BMO chop to send the opponent flying
Down Air Special Throwin’ Stones Finn throws a gem to the side he is facing. The player must then key in a second input, after which Finn will dash towards, the gem dealing damage to any opponents in his path. Even though Finn will need gold to get the gem, the game does not restrict the move when out of cash. Finn throws an apple, instead but deals significantly less damage when compared to the damage done with a gem throw.

Perk List

MultiVerusus Finn Perks

In MultiVersus, Finn gains the following perks at the following levels:

Perk Name Level Unlocked Description
Wildcat Brawler Mastery Level 2 The Wildcat Brawler is an offensive perk more suitable for players looking to use Finn for a more aggressive strategy. When it comes to a tag team game, players can use this perk to even out the team's play. Adding the perk to one's loadout boosts the overall team's melee combat damage per hit by 5%
Speed Force Assist Mastery Level 4 This is the first utility perk that Finn receives. Although it doesn't make any difference to the attack or defense numbers, the perk increases his team's base movement speed by 4%. The perk helps players make quick exits sideways or while in danger of falling off the arena.
… In a Single Bound Mastery Level 7 This utility perk adds a boost to the team's base trait (which is not attack or defense). With this loadout, the team gets a beneficial increase of 10% to their jump speed.
Signature: Going Out of Business Mastery Level 8 This is one of Finn's two exclusive signature perks. It is directly connected to his Signature move and his passive ability with the coins. However, it is worth noting that this perk plays differently in an attack and defense style. While using the signature move Sweet Deal, the perk provides a discount of 200 coins on all items available in the bag while Finn is alone fending for himself in the Arena (after his partner gets knocked out). When attacking, the perk provides a permanent discount of the exact numbers once Finn reaches a 100-point damage level.
Signature: On the House Mastery Level 10 "On The House'' is neither robust nor downright bizarre, but can be very useful for players who enjoy using the "Throwing Stones'' special. Adding the perk to one's loadout provides a free gem at the end of every successful supercharged attack. As mentioned earlier, the damage dealt while using the Throwing Stones move is significantly better when gems are used than the eaten apples.
Hit Me If You’Re Able Mastery Level 11 The last of the utility perks, Hit Me If You're Able, provides a 5% increase to the team's base dodge speed.
Stronger Than Ever Mastery Level 12 "Stronger Than Ever" is the only defense perk that Finn receives. It is no surprise, though, as Assassin class characters are more geared towards attacking. While having this perk in the loadout, Finn and his allies receive armor for 5 seconds following the time of respawn. The armor provisions are exclusive to the respawning character alone (either Finn or his tag mate whenever they come back to the arena), and not to the entire team.
Painted Target Mastery Level 13 The second and last attack perk gives Finn and his teammates a 5% damage boost. But, this perk comes with selective criteria. It only works on opponents who are already stunned by previous hits. Unless Finn's team members can stun opponents with their moves, having this perk in the loadout would prove less useful.

Finding the right combo of perks (Signature, Attack, Utility, and Defense) is up to the player’s requirements and play style. However, Finn's most efficient perk combo is generally the following:

  • Going Out Of Business (Signature)
  • Wildcat Brawler (Slot 1)
  • Stronger Than Ever (Slot 2)
  • In A Single Bound (Slot 3).

Finn has three utility perks and only one defensive perk. Having one signature perk and one of the undeniable attack perks is a necessity to keep him overpowered in the arena. However, the choice left to the players would be on the utility perks. It may depend on the team mater's character of choice in a 2P v 2P battle, or left to the players themselves to decide when it comes to a one-on-one battle mode.
