Mark Hamill has the distinction of lending his talents to two of the most iconic characters in history, Luke Skywalker and The Joker, and it appears the latter of the two may be making his way into MultiVersus in the very near future, according to a new leak. The game has been subject to plenty of leaks in the past when it comes to new characters ranging from Gandalf, Beetlejuice, and Gizmo, though not all have become a reality, as the Middle-Earth's powerful wizard can attest. It remains to be seen if this latest leak turns out to be a reality, but given it appears to be taken from Update Patch 1.03, The Joker's arrival may be a reality soon.

The DC universe already has some notable representation in the arcade-style fighting game with DC's trinity of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman all being available since the early access period in July 2022. The sometimes villain, sometimes anti-hero Harley Quinn was also available with the aforementioned heroes right out of the gate, coinciding with the season three premiere of the character's animated series on HBO Max. As for the future, Black Adam is confirmed to be joining the roster in the near future as Warner Bros. Interactive and Player First Games look to capitalize on the release of the upcoming Dwayne Johnson-led film.

This new leak comes courtesy of Twitter user Laisul, an account that regularly shares potential leaks for MultiVersus ranging from new characters to additional cosmetics. Their latest post shared alleged audio lines they were able to datamine from the game's latest patch and sound similar to Mark Hamill's version of The Joker. As the clip and post indicate, Joker would serve as the new announcer for the game and matches rather than a new playable character, given the dialogue includes time notifications, character selections, and match endings.

Mark Hamill voicing The Joker, in any capacity, for MultiVersus may not come as a surprise to some players given Kevin Conroy provides the voice for Batman in the game. The actors have seemingly been joined at the hip since being cast for Batman: The Animated Series in the early 90s, having since lent their talents to additional animated DC projects, such as Batman Beyond and Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, and several games, most notably the Batman: Arkham series. Conroy, in particular, was even able to make the jump into live-action TV as an older, retired Batman in CW's 2019 crossover event Crisis on Infinite Earths.

That said, it would not be surprising to see some players voice their disappointment that The Joker may only serve as an alternate announcer inside MultiVersus. Their stance is understandable as Joker is widely considered one of the most iconic comic book villains of all time, regardless of label, and a constant in Batman's life regardless of the medium. It doesn't mean Gotham's Clown Prince of Crime can't make it into the game as a playable character down the road, but it could be a longer wait than some players may have thought.

MultiVersus is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
