The DMZ mode is the most popular gaming mode in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, and it features various challenges and missions for players to complete and earn unique rewards, including the Bryson Long Rifle Weapons Testing mission. The latest season 3 update features a new boss called the Scavenger, who is incredibly difficult to locate and defeat.
The Modern Warfare 2 Scavenger boss is part of the Calling Card mission, which requires players to kill the Scavenger and collect all 3 of his calling cards. Completing this mission rewards players with a key to the Sawah Hotel room and an XP. Many players have failed to find and kill Scavenger because the new boss operates differently from other DMZ bosses.

The Objective of the Calling Card Mission
The Calling Card mission in DMZ tasks players with two objectives:
- Find and extract 3 Scavenger calling cards
- Find and kill the Scavenger.
Where to Find and Extract Scavenger Calling Cards
The first step to completing the Calling Card mission is to find and extract the 3 Scavenger calling cards. The Scavenger leaves behind these cards after looting the backpacks of fallen Operators (fellow players completing missions in the game). Players should first collect all 3 cards before killing Scavenger because once they do, he won’t leave behind any more.
To find and extract Scavenger calling cards, search the bodies of dead Operators in Ashika Island and Al Mazrah. The map indicates the location of dead Operators whom the Scavenger has looted with a red circle. So, keep an eye out for this and head over to that location to collect Scavenger calling cards.
Where to Find and Kill Scavenger
Once players have all 3 cards, they should find and kill Scavenger. Finding the Scavenger boss in Modern Warfare 2 DMZ can be challenging as he spawns different locations, looking for backpacks of fallen operators to loot. The Scavenger boss typically roams around the shores of Ashika Island, the Quarry, and the Haffid Port. Players must explore these areas to find the Scavenger, and once they do, they’re alerted by a prompt saying "The Scavenger nearby" on the map. Another alert that indicates a Scavenger is close by is “Multiple operators have gone missing in your area.”
The Scavenger dresses in a black Ghillie suit, so watch out and go for a headshot to take him down. Remember, the Scavenger boss has bodyguards and wears a substantial amount of armor. So, players should bring their best sniper rifles to get a long shot kill and take everyone down from range.
