My Hero Academia fans were disappointed to know that Izuku Midoriya lost his quirk at the end of the Final War, and it was shocking to many fans. However, Horikoshi didn't plan on leaving the fans disappointed for long. Even though Deku lost his quirk, Horikoshi had already made plans for him to return to power in a way that he had already introduced in the story before.
My Hero Academia: Horikoshi Reveals Pro Hero Deku's New Powers
Deku is a pro hero now. Despite losing his quirk, he has now acquired new powers.
Deku ended up getting a Hero armor, thanks to Bakugo and the other Class 1-A students. Needless to say, the Armor built for Deku is incredibly powerful and it actually makes him stronger than before, based on Horikoshi's own words.
Deku's Hero Suit Mimics One For All In My Hero Academia
- One For All's Power Isn't Fully Gone
- Deku Is Known As The One For All Hero
As fans know, the world of My Hero Academia has changed drastically since the end of the Final War. 8 years have passed since, and all the hero aspirants from Class 1-A are now officially Pro Heroes, and this also includes Deku. Although Deku wasn't a Hero after the embers of One For All ran out, he recently received the armor, which means that it is only this year that he officially rose to become a Hero in the story.
Farewell, One For All! — Izuku Midoriya
Remarkably, Deku is growing at a blistering pace in the story. He started off in the double digits when it comes to Hero Rankings, but he has risen up the Hero Billboard Chart and now holds the Number 4 Rank. In other words, this also means that Deku is now officially competing with the likes of Shoto Todoroki and Bakugo. Hero positions aren't just for show, and those three being close means they must be relative in terms of power. Furthermore, Deku only just joined the Heroes, and the others were actually active for far longer than him.
In other words, Shoto and Bakugo, who must have grown far stronger than they were during the Final War, are a good benchmark to judge Deku's strength. Horikoshi also revealed himself that Deku's new suit copies the powers of the One For All. Here's what he said:
Question: How does the armor that Deku received from Class A function?
Horikoshi: It tries to mimic various OFA abilities, for example, it has cable extensions that function like his ability Black Whip. It also serves as a prototype where he can try to combine various abilities.
Technology Is Growing At A Remarkable Speed In My Hero Academia
Deku Will Keep Growing Stronger
As revealed by Horikoshi himself, technology isn't just limited to support equipment in the series now. It is a power of its own and it is growing drastically. This only means one thing, and that is Deku is actually rising through the ranks at a blistering pace and will eventually go on to claim the Number One spot, potentially. It also means that as time passes, Deku will grow even stronger and easily surpass his peak from the war. No matter which way fans look at it, Deku is destined to be far stronger without the One For All than with it.
My Hero Academia: Deku's Next Big Power Up Is Already Confirmed By Horikoshi
Deku is strong, but not strong enough to be the number 1 in Japan right now. Horikoshi has confirmed he will get a new power up in MHA.
