This article contains spoilers from My Hero Academia's Epilogue.
My Hero Academia’s end was a mixed bag for the protagonist, Izuku Midoriya, as the author, Kohei Horikoshi, decided to make some very brave changes to his character. In the final battle against Shigaraki Tomura, where All For One eventually took over, Izuku Midoriya ended up sacrificing his very quirk that had been passed down from one generation to another.
My Hero Academia: Horikoshi Officially Reveals The New Generation Of Pro Heroes
The new generation of Pro Hero has risen, and Horikoshi reveals it in MHA.
This was a damaging blow to his dreams of becoming a top-level Pro Hero, but to save the world, Izuku sacrificed the power of his Quirk without thinking twice about it. Now, long after the timeskip of MHA, fans wonder what his current power level is. After all, Izuku continues to be a Hero to this day. It has now been confirmed by Horikoshi that Izuku Midoriya is still a Top 5 level Hero, despite losing the One For All.
Izuku Is Still Top Level Pro Hero After Losing One For All
His Hero Armor Powers Him Up
- One For All Was Lost In MHA's Final War
- Izuku Uses A New Armor
Fans of My Hero Academia know very well that Izuku Midoriya doesn't hold the same power that he had in the Final War. He gave away the power of the One For All, slowly transferring one vestige after another to Shigaraki Tomura to get a shot at defeating him. Needless to say, Izuku Midoriya succeeded in doing that, but the price to pay was huge. Izuku ended up saying goodbye to the power of the One For All Quirk forever, and he couldn't become a Pro Hero, at least initially.

Say Goodbye To My Hero Academia, But Welcome Its New Replacement Series
MHA is ending, but it already has a new replacement to carry its legacy.
Later on, Izuku's dreams were fulfilled when it was revealed that Bakugo and the other Class 1-A students had pooled their money and paid for a high-tech hero armor for him. This made him one of the strongest Heroes once again. Despite losing the One For All, Izuku is extremely powerful, and this has now been confirmed by the author himself. According to Kohei Horikoshi, technology has made great advancements over the last few years, and Izuku's armor ensures that he is a top-level Hero even without a quirk. The fact is that even now, Izuku Midoriya is one of the strongest Heroes in My Hero Academia, and that is very well reflected in the fact that he is currently the No. 4 Hero in Japan. In fact, Izuku is even ahead of Bakugo right now, and very close to Shoto and Mirio. This in itself means that Izuku's powers are on a very high level.

Izuku Midoriya Can Become The Number 1 Hero
Izuku Is Rising Through The Ranks Fast
Even though Izuku Midoriya lost the One For All, fans know for a fact that he can still go on to become the Number 1 Hero in the future of the series. Right now, he holds the fourth rank in Japan, and he has managed to achieve that in just a few months. If he keeps working hard and growing at the same pace, Izuku can actually challenge Mirio Togata soon.
Eventually, Izuku Midoriya will go on to tussle with him, and when that happens, fans know for a fact that he will become the Number 1 Hero, just like his idol, All Might. It is only a matter of time before that happens. Of course, for that, Horikoshi would have to drop another My Hero Academia one-shot, or any other form of continuation for the series. At the moment, there isn't much to look forward to, but fans should wait patiently because more content is guaranteed to come their way.
The My Hero Academia manga was concluded by the mangaka, Horikoshi, and features 431 chapters for fans to read. All these chapters can be found on Manga Plus. As for the anime, My Hero Academia Season 8 will be released on October 4, 2025. The series can be streamed on Crunchyroll.
