My Hero Academia may have ended, but the series is so massive that discussions about it, both from the fans have the author himself, never truly stop. While fans got a fanbook last month, which the author, Kohei Horikoshi, said was the last fanbook of the series, this month, a new My Hero Academia art book dropped, which was incredibly exciting for all fans, given that it compiled a ton of Horikoshi's amazing art, and also delivered new content, including many comments from the author.

Given that Horikoshi has revealed a lot of extra information over the past few weeks, fans now have a better idea of the world of MHA after the end of the war. For instance, the new Top 5 Heroes have already been revealed, and, interestingly enough, Horikoshi has also indirectly confirmed who is the likeliest to become the Number One Hero in the near future.

How Mirio Became The Number One Hero In MHA

  • Mirio Was Always Destined For The Number One Spot
  • Bakugo Is Potentially Even Stronger

It is no surprise to know that Mirio Togata is quite powerful. Even when he was first introduced in the story, fans were made aware of his immense potential immediately. The author said clearly that Mirio Togata was actually the Hero closest to All Might, despite just being a student back then. His strength was portrayed to be even more impressive than Endeavor's, which is quite impressive. As such, when Mirio did graduate and got even stronger, it is no surprise to know that he took the Number One Hero spot.

I want to save people with a smile on my face! — Lemillion

Mirio must be far stronger than ever before right now, and if his potential is fulfilled, he must be on a whole different level compared to before. But, Mirio isn't the strongest Hero by himself. It has already been confirmed in the story that Bakugo is, at the very least, even with him in terms of strength, or even stronger already, despite not being the Number One Hero.

Here's what Horikoshi said about Bakugo in the MHA Ultra Age Fanbook:

A boy who aspires to be the number one hero. He has a rough and aggressive personality but a genius talent for fighting. He feels a strong rivalry with his childhood friend Izuku due to his rapid growth, but gradually begins to acknowledge his abilities. After his graduation, he becomes a sidekick under Jeanist, and then goes independent. His abilities are said to be equal to or even greater than those of Lemillion, but he can't get rid of his rough behavior and is struggling to rise in the rankings. When he teams up with others, his reputation mysteriously rises. He is often loved by the senior Heroes.

Why Bakugo Is Destined To Become The Number One Hero

Bakugo Is Working On His Bad Behavior

If there's one thing that's holding Bakugo back greatly, it is his bad behavior. In terms of power, he is immensely powerful. In fact, Bakugo opened the Hero Billboard Chart at Number 4, but dropped to 15 due to his behavior. But now, with Deku shooting up the charts, Bakugo is doing his best to keep up and get even better. Bakugo will not be looking to lose, which means that he'll do his best to keep his behavior under control, and if that happens, he's destined for the Number One Hero spot.

Can Deku Become The Number One Hero?

Just like Bakugo, Deku is also quite high up the Hero Billboard Chart. Currently, he sits at Number 4, and fans expect him to go even higher with her Hero Armor. Hopefully, Deku can maintain the Number One position for a while, but it is likely that he, Bakugo, and Shoto will interchange this position often.
