Although Shota Aizawa and Mirio may have drastically different personalities in MHA, they each find common ground in their care and affection for Eri, the talented child rescued from the clutches of the Shie Hassaikai. As Eri's guardian, Aizawa is in charge of caring for the young girl while at U.A. High campus, with Mirio playing a significant role in accommodating and entertaining Eri, showing her the lay of the land while his quirk was removed.

As one of Eri's rescuers, Mirio has since taken a great hand in looking after her on U.A. High Campus, showing her the sights and acting as a brother figure, caring deeply for the child.

After Mirio's quirk is taken away in the fight against the Shie Hassaikai, Eri's Rewind quirk is used to recover Mirio's Permeation after training to use her abilities with care. Eri is eager to aid Mirio, as the pair have developed a special and familial bond since her rescue.

3 Nejire Hado

One-third of the Big 3, Nejire Hado, becomes a faithful ally and dear friend of Mirio in MHA. Thanks to their bubbly personalities, the pair get on well, representing the best of what U.A. When Nejire first arrived at the school, Mirio and Tamaki Amajiki were the first two classmates to talk to her, allowing Nejire to feel comfortable and be her outgoing and confident self.

Along with Nejire being in awe of Mirio's growth and talent level, the pair have fought for their lives on the battlefield together in the Paranormal Liberation War, with Mirio making a return, thanks to the restoration of his quirk, to fight alongside Nejire, among many others, against the villainous Shigaraki.

Since their days before U.A. High, Mirio and Amajiki have been best friends, eventually rising to become part of the Big 3 alongside Nejire. When they first met, the timid and quiet Amajiki was immediately comforted by Mirio, with the pair hitting it off when the topic of heroes came up. Frequently in MHA, Mirio has been shown to give Amajiki confidence and reassurance over his quirk and social skills, always being on hand to aid his friend, whether in battle or in daily events.

Amajiki, meanwhile, is amazed by Mirio, admiring his work ethic in perfecting his immense quirk and cheerful persona, which has continually uplifted Amajiki throughout their adolescence. Even when Mirio lost his quirk, Amajiki reassured Mirio that he would soon regain Permeation, returning the favor for all the times Mirio raised his spirits in the past.
