My Hero Academia: You're Next was announced all the way back in August 2023. Later, at Jump Festa 2024, it was confirmed that the film would be released in Q3 2024. As the creator of the franchise, Kohei Horikoshi supervised the film and provided character designs. Tensai Okamura served as the director, and Yōsuke Kuroda wrote the scripts. Yoshihiko Umakoshi was in charge of the character designs.

My Hero Academia: You're Next was widely successful in terms of earnings. It grossed more than $32 million during its run. In Japan, the film made $5 million and over $27 million throughout the rest of the world. My Hero Academia: You're Next ended up becoming the tenth highest-grossing film in Japan in 2024.
