Mutant Quirk users, also known as heteromorphs, could be among the most disadvantaged Quirk users in the Hero society of My Hero Academia. Although characters greatly benefit from their Mutant Quirks, those with frightening appearances are often discriminated against, leading them to have a vengeful attitude towards Pro Heroes and the Hero society.
Characters with Mutant Quirks rely primarily on their physical abilities, which gives them a colossal advantage during battle, as their Quirk can not be nullified. Having a Mutant Quirk might mean altering your clothes or daily life or even facing prejudice, shedding light on a broken Hero society.

What are Mutant Quirks?
A Mutant Quirk Can Affect Your Appearance and Give You an Extra Appendage
There are three types of Quirks in which an individual possesses one unique to their heritage. Although there are several types of Quirks an individual can be listed under, a character can fall under more than one category, as their appearance can be Mutant; however, their Quirk could be Emitter.
A Mutant-type Quirk is one of these Quirk Types. A Mutant Quirk is a Quirk that will cause a permanent and physical abnormality in an individual's body. Individuals with a Mutant Quirk are born his way, and the Quirk they receive is hereditary, which causes a physical abnormality in the person's appearance.
Individuals with a Mutant Quirk in My Hero Academia are heteromorphs. These individuals often have humanoid bodies with some kind of abnormality, such as additional limbs, skin texture, or face structure. Unlike Transformation Quirks, individuals with Mutant Quirks cannot turn their Quirks off.

A character with a different skin texture or an extra limb, such as Hawks or Spinner, cannot retract them. As the Quirk manifests through their body, it could be seen as a state of constant activity. An example of this would be that Aizawa Shota’s Erasure Quirk cannot nullify the extra limbs or appendages of those with Mutant Quirks. While it can still somewhat impair their quirk factor, the physical strength of the individual's extra limbs will not be affected.
As mentioned above, Mutant Quirks are derived from generations of users passing down their corresponding Quirks. This would be an example of Asui Tsuyu. Tsuyu comes from a family of Frog-related Quirk users. As a result of this, Tsuyu has froglike features and abilities that have been passed down from her parents. As these individuals rely on their physical strength and other factors of their Quirk, they pose a significant threat to villains as their Quirk is a valuable asset in battle.
What Are the Disadvantages of Having a Mutant Quirk?
Characters with a Frightening Appearance Can be Discriminated Against by Society
Individuals with Mutant Quirks can have immense strength; however, they likely also need the correct conditions to use these Quirks. As previously mentioned, Mutant Quirks are commonly inherited and can not be altered. Unfortunately, this also has its own disadvantages regarding the societal aspect of what it means to be a Mutant Quirk user.
Although Quirks have been established for more than 100 years, most Quirk users have regular human appearances, making Mutant Quirk users a minority. Due to this, a portion of society still sees heteromorphs or Mutant Quirk users as less than human, although this is far from the case. In My Hero Academia, heteromorphs are often discriminated against for their unusual appearance, leading them to be abused and shunned by the community.

Shinso may have a seemly weak and villainous Quirk; however, with hard work and determination, he may yet become a Pro Hero.
Another disadvantage is the inability to “turn off” their Quirk. Spinner, from the League of Villains, is an example of this, with his reptile skin-like appearance and snout. Spinner can not change his appearance, which has led to his discrimination. A similar instance is Shoji, as he wears a mask to cover the scars he received as a child after being assaulted for his appearance.
In addition to this, characters with extra appendages, such as tails or wings, need to tailor their clothes to fit their mutation. It’s possible that these mutations can also be unconformable for the character in certain situations, such as sitting or lying down. Thus, these characters need to make the appropriate accommodations for their Quirks.
My Hero Academia: The Parallels Between All Might and Endeavor as Number One Hero

Not all heteromorphs experience the prejudice and discrimination faced by others. Those with frightening features are often the ones who are discriminated against the most. However, with the large cities and towns, this will not happen and the community and society within them are more advanced and accepting. Heteromorphs who live in the outskirts will experience an extreme form of discrimination from their community, which can lead to assault and adapting to the life of a shut-in.
This discrimination also affects Heteromorphic Pro Heroes such as Gang Orca, and Heroes with frightening appearances can be considered villains. In Chapter 110, it was noted that in the “Looks most like a villain” poll by citizens, Gang Orca ranked number 3, even though he was ranked number 10 on the Hero Billboard chart.

In My Hero Academia, some humans have superpowers called quirks. Izuku Midoriya, nicknamed Deku, is not one of them. Deku has always idolized heroes like the number one hero, All Might, and since he was a child, he has always wanted to be a hero.
