This article contains spoilers from Kohei Horikoshi's My Hero Academia.
In a story full of students at school, it is no surprise that Kohei Horikoshi, the creator of My Hero Academia, threw a handful of romantic couples into the mix. In Horikoshi's own words, it would be unrealistic if there were no romance involved in a story about heroes at school, even though there was hardly ever any time for romance to be included in the plot. While not perfect, My Hero Academia’s romance element is certainly exciting and adds a new layer of depth to the lives of the characters, be it the protagonist, Izuku Midoriya, and Ochaco Uraraka, or someone else entirely. The world of My Hero Academia has quite a few couples that Horikoshi seems to be particularly interested in.
Since the end of the story, My Hero Academia has only revealed more couples to the fans, while adding more depth to some already existing ones. At this point, fans already know very well about the deep relationship that Izuku Midoriya shares with Ochaco Uraraka and how their romance bloomed at the end of the story. But there's another exciting couple that fans need to turn their attention to, and that's the couple of Mt. Lady and Kamui Woods. The two have been rumored to be dating for quite a while, and in terms of couples with actual substance to their relationship, they might just be the best one.
Kamui Woods And Mt. Lady Are The New Big Couple In My Hero Academia
My Hero Academia author Kohei Horikoshi never shied away from drawing relationships between already established characters, and one such romantic relationship was forged between Kamui Woods and Mt. Lady a long time ago. Their bond goes as far back as the beginning of the story itself as they've known each other for a very long time, and Horikoshi continued to build their relationship slowly over the years.
This is the story of how we all became the greatest of heroes! — Izuku Midoriya
At one point, Horikoshi himself revealed in the manga that the two might be dating through the narrative, and that's something that the fans are intrigued by to this day. On top of that, fans even got to see Mt. Lady add fuel to the fire by not denying a relationship with Kamui Woods upon being asked. Given the relationship they share, the fact that the author himself added these rumors about them dating in the world of My Hero Academia, it's only natural for the fans to see them as one.
Horikoshi Has Already Hinted At Them Dating
Out of all the relationships that Kohei Horikoshi drew in My Hero Academia, the one between Mt. Lady and Kamui Woods was probably built up the most. From the two being on opposing ends where the former stole the latter’s glory, to them shielding each other's backs, this potential couple worked incredibly well together. While Kamui Woods initially hated the fact that Mt. Lady stole his glory, the fact is that he came to respect her and enjoy her presence later down the line.
Most importantly, Mt. Lady herself found a lot of courage as a Hero due to working with Kamui Woods. Upon the reporters asking about their relationship, Mt. Lady clearly smiled and declined to comment at all, adding another layer to how close they are to each other.
My Hero Academia Might Confirm More Couples In The Future
While Kamui Woods and Mt. Lady form an incredible My Hero Academia couple, fans know very well that there is more to come in the future. In the Ultra Age Fanbook, Horikoshi confirmed that Shindo and Nakagame are dating as well, and in the oneshot for MHA, it was also stated that Kinoko and Shihai are together as well. Hopefully, fans will get more content in the future confirming more couples.
The My Hero Academia manga concluded with 431 chapters for fans to read. All these chapters can be found on Manga Plus. My Hero Academia is also airing its final season, which will consist of 11 episodes in total. The series can be watched on Crunchyroll.
