This article will contain spoilers from My Hero Academia Season 6, episode 4, "Inheritance", currently streaming on Crunchyroll.

The Paranormal Liberation War has just kicked off in My Hero Academia and the Heroes have divided themselves into two troupes, with Team Edgeshot taking on the bulk of the villains at Gunga Mountain Villa, while Team Endeavor is after Dr. Ujiko and Shigaraki (although they have overpowered High-End Nomus to contend with first).

Mirko and Hawks are both right in the thick of things and are in desperate need of some backup, however, these two Pro-Heroes are more than willing to risk their lives for the sake of the mission. Will reinforcements arrive in time, or will their sacrifices simply be a vain attempt at incapacitating the Symbol of Evil?

The Villa of Villains

My Hero Academia: Season 6 Episode 4, Review Hawks and Dabi

Hawks is completely flabbergasted at hearing his true name, Keigo Takami, emerge from Dabi's mouth (of all people!) But he doesn't have much time to contemplate how the villain gained access to this confidential information. The crimson-winged crusader recalls his preadolescent days when he entered a specialized Hero training program at a very young age and subsequently relinquished his birthname while holding tightly to his Endeavor stuffy; how could Dabi possibly know anything about this? "Distraught" by Twice's death, Dabi takes his opportunity for vengeance by surrounding Hawks in his icy-hot blue flames, grinning like a maniac as he goes.

Dabi, however, is less concerned with losing a dear friend and more worried about how the absence of the Double Quirk will affect his mission, which surprisingly, has nothing to do with the Paranormal Liberation Front or the League of Villains. This fearsome antagonist is actually a die-hard Stain fan and wishes to continue on his Hero Killing escapade in Chizome Akaguro's absence. He enlightens Hawks about where his loyalties truly lie before engulfing him in a cerulean inferno, leaving the heavily-injured No. 2 Hero with little chance of escape.

Chaos Reigns at Jaku Hospital

My Hero Academia: Season 6 Episode 4, Review Kyudai Garaki aka Daruma Ujiko, Presenst Mic, Mirko

Back on the Team Endeavor front, the Heroes are having a hard time restraining the High-End Nomus, whose regeneration abilities are too fast for any long-lasting damage to take effect. Thankfully, Shota Aizawa is on the scene and his Erasure Quirk is perfect for the job, however, it doesn't take the highly intelligent Nomus long to figure out how his ability works. Eraser Head still manages to sufficiently nullify the potency of a few Nomus for Endeavor to cause some significant damage, but is time on their side?

The magnificent Mirko is still off on her solitary mission and is doing all she can to stop Dr. Ujiko from finalizing Shigaraki's transformation, but the High-End Nomus won't let her get away that easily! The monstrous beasts land a few good blows, but the blood-soaked bunny is relentless and simply focuses on her goal, pushing all pain to the back of her mind. As soon as Mirko spots the evil scientist and his prized experiment, she makes a beeline for Shigaraki's chamber and attempts to smash the glass with her Luna Arc attack.

Despite the severity of her injuries, the No.5 Hero still manages to make contact with some mighty kicks and crack the glass, leaving the purplish liquid to spill out onto the surrounding equipment, which subsequently fries most of the electronic components of Ujiko's machine in the process. Mirko is finally reunited with Endeavor, who cauterizes her wounds before it's too late and ensures to extend his gratitude for her amazing service to the cause.

Meanwhile, Eraser Head is still attempting to get the Nomus under control and manages to incapacitate them for long enough to give Present Mic and X-Less a gap to go and finish off what Mirko started. Just as Dr. Ujiko is about to reawaken his greatest accomplishment, Present Mic uses a concentrated sound wave to shatter the capsule completely, leaving the unconscious Shigaraki to spill out onto the floor. With the dearly departed Oboro Shirakumo on his mind, Mic knocks the doctor down with a DJ Punch before hauling Ujiko away to "switch" the Nomus off, leaving X-Less to deal with Shigaraki's capture.

The Terrible Trio

My Hero Academia: Season 6 Episode 4, Review Kyudai Garaki aka Daruma Ujiko , All For One, Tomura Shagaraki

Seventy years ago, this mad scientist released his paranormal singularity theory to the world but was shot down by critics who did not want to accept the idea of a dystopian future; and it was assumed that he died a few years later. Dr. Ujiko was originally classified as Quirkless, however, his beloved All For One has rectified that issue by granting him a life-extending Quirk in exchange for his athletic prowess. The now 120 years old Ujiko duplicated All For One's Quirk to lengthen his lifespan even further, and it seems very likely that the prodigal son, Shigariki, would have received similar treatment during his upgrade.

Shigaraki's transformation is only 75% complete, and he has been placed in a state of animated suspension for the duration of the procedure, requiring an electric shock to reawaken his consciousness. Unfortunately, X-Less seemed to have forgotten this crucial fact and failed to remove his ward from the conductive fluid in time, allowing a rogue electric charge to make contact with Shigaraki's lifeless body.

During his hibernation state, the troubled boy revisited his deceased family in the recesses of his mind, replaying their most memorable moments (which helps Shagaraki to find closure in his own twisted way.) His loved ones desperately try to hold him back from aligning himself with All For One, urgently reminding Shigaraki of his prior dreams of becoming a Hero one day, but are simply turn to dust at his touch (just like the first time around.)

Next Time: "The Thrill of Destruction"

My Hero Academia: Season 6 Episode 4, Review Tomura Shagaraki

The reinforcements have finally arrived at Jaku Hospital with Gran Torino and Ryuko Tatsuma in the lead and it seems the Heroes may finally be able to tame the rest of the awakened savage Nomu beasts. Unfortunately, this is only the calm before the storm, as the Pro-Heroes are under the false pretense that Shigaraki has been incapacitated (and it is highly unlikely that X-Less will live to tell the tale.) After months of hard work and dedication, the Symbol of Evil has finally been resurrected, and nobody has a cooking clue regarding how many overpowered Quirks Shigaraki now has at his beck and call! As Ujiko already revealed, All For One has shared his own original abilities with the young man and is currently only in possession of a duplicate himself. It looks like it might be time for Deku and his crew to get in on the action as "decay and destruction envelop the town."
