  • MHA Season 8 will have an advance screening event in Japan on August 17.
  • Official release of MHA Season 8 is scheduled for October 2025.
  • Final season will cover chapters 399 to 431, potentially with extended content.

My Hero Academia Season 8 will have at least one advance screening in Japan. The My Hero Academia manga, one of Shonen Jump's flagship titles in the past decade, concluded last year, with a mixed reception. Both the official ending in the magazine and the additional content in the final volume sparked intense discussions among fans.

The anime adaptation is expected to conclude either this year or next, depending on how many cours MHA Season 8, the final season of the anime, will have. Recent seasons have each run for at least two cours, but it hasn't been confirmed how many episodes this season will contain.

MHA Season 8 Will Be Screened at a Special Event

At the end of 2024, the Hero x Villain Fes was announced, an event to be held in Japan this August to celebrate the My Hero Academia anime. The official account on X (formerly Twitter) has been sharing more details about this special celebration over the past few days, and the account has just confirmed an advance screening of the beginning of My Hero Academia Season 8 at the event on August 17. In addition, eight voice actors, including those who voice Deku, Bakugo, Ochaco, and Todoroki, will make a special appearance at the event.

It hasn't been revealed how many episodes will be shown, but it's safe to assume that at least the first episode will be screened during the event. Fans who want to avoid spoilers should be careful from that day on, as attendees are likely to drop impressions and comments about it on social media. There may be additional advance screenings planned, but we’ll have to wait for further announcements.

When Will MHA Season 8 Be Released?

My Hero Academia Season 8 is scheduled for release in October 2025, but the exact premiere date is yet to be announced. This means that the advance screening will take place about two months ahead of the official debut, making it a unique chance for fans eagerly awaiting the final season.

The seventh season of My Hero Academia covered up to chapter 398, the last chapter of Volume 39. This means that the final season will cover from chapter 399 to chapter 431 and may also include additional content published after the release of the final volume. It's possible to fit all this content into a single cour, but the production may choose to focus more on battles and expand key scenes, so it could be a little longer than that.

My Hero Academia is available to stream on Crunchyroll, subbed and dubbed in English and other languages.

In My Hero Academia, some humans have superpowers called quirks. Izuku Midoriya, nicknamed Deku, is not one of them. Deku has always idolized heroes like the number one hero, All Might, and since he was a child, he has always wanted to be a hero. However, his lack of a quirk has always held him back, but a chance encounter with All Might after discovering a classmate in danger sets Deku on the path to becoming a true hero. My Hero Academia centers around Deku and a class of heroes-in-training at UA. This school shapes young quirk users into future heroes through fake rescue missions, combat training, and other hero-tempering tasks. With young Deku inheriting the "One-For-All" quirk, he will learn what it means to be a true hero while facing off with dastardly supervillains.
