My Hero Academia's characters are at their best when they show off new powers and achieve big personal moments. Sometimes, these characters steal the show whether they win or lose, though fans still care about the final score in battle. It may be no coincidence that some of the most popular and prominent cast members in My Hero Academia have the highest win rates. Their many victories are evidence of their growth and thrill viewers time and again.

A small handful of My Hero Academia characters, most of them heroes, have risen to the top of the win/loss charts. They all took part in many battles and won more than half of them, with some cast members winning roughly two-thirds of their battles. It's too much to ask for anyone to have a perfect run in a lengthy anime like My Hero Academia, yet some of these Quirk-wielding fighters get impressively close.

All Might Wins Battles But Lost the War Against Villainy

All Might Has a Mixed Record Fighting All For One

As My Hero Academia fans would expect, All Might has notched more wins than losses, though the ratio isn't as flattering as one might think. All Might the hero defeated minor villains at the start of the Two Heroes movie and narrowly defeated All For One in the anime's backstory. After that, however, his combat record became more mixed. Early on, All Might scored more notable wins to improve his win rage, such as when he went Plus Ultra to defeat the absorption Nomu at USJ, and he also defeated All For One in Kamino Ward. He also helped Deku defeat Wolfram in the first movie.

All Might lost to All For One in his "Iron All Might" form, and he also lost to Deku and Bakugo during their teachers-vs-students exam. Still, the most important part of All Might's win rate is that the numbers actually don't matter that much for him. My Hero Academia viewers love seeing the symbol of peace triumph on the battlefield, but it's all in vain. The pro hero industry can't change society for the better with more of the same, and "more of the same" is the only thing All Might ever does, no matter how powerful his Smashes.

Tomura Shigaraki Scored Major Victories But Couldn't Defeat Deku

Tomura Owes Some Victories to All For One

All For One's win rate is only average, while his protege, Tomura Shigaraki, has more impressive numbers. His only major defeat arrived at the very end when, in Season 8, Deku destroyed him from the inside out by sacrificing One For All and its many Quirks. Some of Tomura's other defeats weren't really his own, such as when he tried and failed to kill All Might with his absorption Nomu, or when he failed to kill Deku at Jaku Hospital. A major supervillain like Tomura needs this level of plot armor to avoid getting captured by heroes who are eager to see him fail.

Tomura's other fights all turned out well for him, including his victories over minor heroes like X-Less in Season 6. Tomura also took down the rival villain Re-Destro, securing his leadership in the newly formed Paranormal Liberation Front. Above all, My Hero Academia fans were equally impressed to see Tomura fight and defeat Star and Stripe, the #1 American pro hero. Granted, Tomura owes some victories to his mentor All For One, but those wins still count.

Fumikage Tokoyami Has Proven Himself a Top-Ranked UA Student

Fumikage's Victories Aren't Flashy, But They Are Numerous

The four strongest students in class 1-A at UA all boast impressive win rates across their many battles. While Fumikage Tokoyami isn't quite "main trio" material in class 1-A, he's breathing down their necks as the master of Dark Shadow. Thanks to his natural talent and Hawk' support, Fumikage has become a fearsome fighter who only rarely suffers defeat. Fumikage did lose to Bakugo in the UA sports festival, but that's mainly because Explosion's light hindered Dark Shadow a great deal. Fumikage also narrowly lost to Kinoko Komori, but he gave her a run for her money.

The rest of Fumikage's combat record is nothing but wins, which must feel pretty good for him. Fumikage and Tsuyu Asui handily defeated Ectoplasm during their training battle, and Fumikage took down both Momo and Mina in the sports festival before Bakugo bested him. In the second movie, Heroes: Rising, Fumikage battled the powerful villain Slice and vanquished her, all while showing just enough mercy with Dark Shadow's berserk power. Deku's and Bakugo's triumph over Nine was the true climax of that movie, but fans must not forget Fumikage's own accomplishments, either.

Katsuki Bakugo Has Blasted His Way to Victory Many Times

Bakugo Even Defeated the Grim Reaper With Edgeshot's Help

As expected of Deku's powerhouse shonen rival, Katsuki Bakugo can boast one of My Hero Academia's most impressive win rates of all. It's true he lost to Tomura Shigaraki and effectively died, but even that was reversed once Edgeshot came to Bakugo's aid. Miraculously, Bakugo returned from near-death and went Plus Ultra to destroy All For One himself, accomplishing what not even Deku could. Amusingly, Bakugo had let go of his dream to become the #1 hero by then, but killing All For One made him feel like the legitimate #1 hero after all.

9 Strongest My Hero Academia Characters (Right Now)

My Hero Academia has officially ended, hailing these characters as the strongest of all.

Bakugo may have lost an early fight when he failed to stop Ochaco and Deku from claiming the bomb objective in Season 1, but aside from that, Bakugo's chronology is a long list of victories. He won all four of his matches in the UA sports festival, though those victories felt hollow, with Bakugo unable to truly test himself against Shoto's full power. Bakugo spent much of My Hero Academia struggling with an internal battle that wasn't won until much later, which is why he didn't even feel good about defeating Deku in their nighttime duel. In the movies, Bakugo's wins are more straightforward, with him helping Deku defeat Nine while also vanquishing Serpenters solo in World Heroes Mission.

Shoto Todoroki's Massive Talent Helped Him Secure Many Wins in the Anime

Shoto Resents His Lineage But Has Put it to Good Use in Battle

Along with Bakugo and Deku, Shoto Todoroki is part of class 1-A's mighty trio, and his combat record reflects that fact. Shoto's defeats are rare, and it should be noted that when he lost to Bakugo in the sports festival, his heart wasn't in it. It's anyone's guess whether Shoto could have overcome Bakugo's power in that tournament match, which in a way makes Shoto's win rate feel even higher than it already is. Also, while Shoto failed to defeat class 1-B's team in the joint training exercise, Shoto's team didn't lose, either. And Shoto definitely contributed a lot to his team's effort before he passed out.

Shoto's combat record is a flood of victories and flashy moments after that, including minor fights that fans might have forgotten, such as when Shoto single-handedly defeated a team of opponents in the provisional hero license exam. Shoto won his first three matches in the sports festival against Sero, Deku, and Tenya, then helped Deku and Tenya defeat Stain not after that. Meanwhile, Shoto's best victories are the most personal, with him emotionally supporting Momo as they defeated Eraser Head during a practical exam. Above all, Shoto scored a multi-layered victory when he and his family defeated Dabi and planted a seed of redemption, or at least regret, in Toya Todoroki's head.

Deku Has Saved the Day More Times Than Anime Fans Can Count

One For All Turned Deku From a Zero to a Hero Who Almost Always Wins

Unsurprisingly, the shonen protagonist Izuku Midoriya/Deku boasts the anime's most impressive win rate of all. Only a few memorable losses mar his otherwise impeccable record, such as narrowly losing to Shoto in the sports festival or losing to Bakugo during their personal nighttime duel. Deku's countless wins overshadow those few losses, however, and that's what fans want to see. As the bearer of One For All and All Might's personal heir as the symbol of peace, Deku bears an awesome responsibility to win at all costs against the forces of evil. The strain did get to Deku, hence his Dark Deku era, but it did result in many wins for My Hero Academia's star.

Some of Deku's victories were purely physical, such as defeating Muscular for the second time or defeating Stain to protect Tenya, but his best wins were also wonderfully personal. Deku is a heartfelt fighter who truly understands that heroism is about helping people, and that reflects in some of his finest moments. He did more than defeat Muscular to save Kota, for example. He also inspired Kota to believe in heroes once again. And of course, Deku's final victory over Tomura was a purely personal one, with Deku risking and sacrificing almost everything to reach the Tenko Shimura persona buried deep in Tomura's spirit.
