The post-apocalyptic world of My Time at Sandrock has recovered enough for its denizens to enjoy most modern technologies. This includes machines and equipment that use Rubber as their core components. As such, players are going to need some Rubber for their own construction builds.
My Time at Sandrock: Best Ways to Make Money
Making money in My Time at Sandrock can be a little confusing in the beginning, but it won't take long before players get a steadier flow of income.
Rubber is required for many crafting recipes in My Time at Sandrock, including the majority of second and third-tier equipment, components, and crafting stations. It's not as rare as some other materials in the game, but getting Rubber in large quantities can be troublesome for players who don't know where to look.
My Time at Sandrock: Where to Find Rubber
Rubber is one of the materials that players can start gathering almost immediately. Builders may sometimes find old tires scattered in the vicinity of their workshop; smack these with a Pickhammer to get Rubber Scraps.
A little after the start of a new save file, players will be asked to build a Crane Lift to reach the Eufaula Salvage Abandoned Ruins. Upon starting this quest, they'll gain access to Eufaula Salvage's junkyard, where random piles of breakable junk will spawn. Mixed Junk Piles have a chance to give one of each basic material (wood, rubber, copper, etc). Meanwhile, dedicated piles of rubber will give mostly Rubber Scraps when struck and destroyed.
Rubber Scraps also drop from the following enemies:
- Geegler VP
- Geegler Manager
- Move-O-Tron
- Boxing Jacks
- Logan
- The Caretaker
Rubber Scraps alone can't be used in crafting recipes. Much like Copper Scraps, these must be brought to a Recycler, where they are turned into regular sheets of Rubber, Rubber Tubes, and Rubber Shells. These can then be brought to different crafting stations like the Grinder or Worktable, where they can be turned into useful components.
Since Rubber is mainly obtained from the Recycler, players should consider investing Knowledge Points in the second level of the Recycling Knowledge perk. This gives players a chance to get an extra item when salvaging scrap, greatly increasing the value of the random junk piles that appear in the world.
This perk gains even more value once players open up Paradise Lost on the other side of Eufaula Salvage. This area tends to have a few dedicated Rubber Junk Piles most times. However, there are also dangerous robots roaming the perimeter. Players will have to fight through the bots in order to safely salvage whatever valuables are inside the premises.
