Aluminum is required for some of the more advanced crafting recipes in My Time at Sandrock, and it won't be until later that players get the means to collect it. Once they do reach that point, Aluminum Scrap is likely the first main source they'll come across.
My Time at Sandrock: Where to Find Tin Ore
Tin is an essential component in the smelting of Bronze, which is the next big upgrade tier players get in My Time at Sandrock.
Like other scrap piles, Aluminum Scrap must be broken down and turned into useful materials at a Recycler. However, unlike its lower-tier counterparts, Aluminum Scrap can only be found in My Time at Sandrock's more dangerous areas.
My Time At Sandrock: Aluminum Scrap Location
Aluminum Scrap can be found in great numbers in the Valley of Whispers, a large, open area located east of Sandrock. This is a relatively high-level area surrounded by Rockyenarolls and Masked Fiends. Players should at least be Level 28 if they want to fight these monsters, but they can ultimately be ignored if needed.
The Valley of Whispers isn't a place that players can just visit. It's covered in a thick layer of toxic gas that will continuously cause damage to anyone inside. This naturally complicates any incursion deep inside its canyons, though there are a couple of ways to work around this.
My Time At Sandrock: Every Romanceable Bachelor, Ranked
Gamers can find a wide selection of romance options in My Time at Sandrock, but which bachelor is the best?
The first way to bypass the toxic gas is to wear a Protective Suit. Players get the diagram for this during the Missing Leak quest, which is a part of Trudy's quest line. Suits can be crafted at Tailoring Machines using 5x Canvas, 5x Plastic Shell, 3x Fiber Mesh, and 2x Tempered Glass.
On top of providing immunity to the poison debuff, Protective Suits also grant sizable chunks of HP, Defense, and Toughness. They work well in combat, though not as efficiently as some of the better protective outfits in the game.
The second way to bypass the toxic gas is to get rid of it entirely by completing Musa's questline, which is composed of Something in the Air, Leak and Destroy, and Clear the Air. After finishing the third quest, the toxic gas covering the valley should disappear completely, leaving players free to visit it without needing a Protective Suit.
Aluminum Scrap requires at least an Iron Pickhammer, so prioritize making one of these before attempting any of the quests listed above. It also helps to bring some upgraded weapons and armor to help with any ambient monsters in the area. Players who are looking for Aluminum Ore will want to go to the Mole Cave Abandoned Ruins in the Badlands instead.
