Naruto Uzumaki is the main protagonist of Masashi Kishimoto's magnum opus. As the leading character, Naruto is obviously the strongest and most popular. The author has given Naruto a plethora of abilities, which have helped him to win many important fights.
Naruto: 32 Strongest Characters In The Series
These Naruto characters are the strongest individuals in the series.
In certain instances, Kishimoto aided the protagonist with plot armor, which is quite common in shonen manga. The author of Naruto didn't shy away from helping the hero win fights that he absolutely didn't deserve to. Naturally, some of Naruto's undeserved victories left a sour taste in fans' mouths.
This post contains spoilers for Naruto.
Naruto vs. Haku
Sasuke Saved Naruto's Life
Naruto's earliest challenging battle took place in the Land of Waves, where he had to fight Haku, Zabuza's protégé. The Demon of the Hidden Mist took in Haku and nurtured him into a fighter. He wanted to exploit Haku's powerful Kekkei Genkai to earn riches. After spending so much time under Zabuza's wing, Haku became a lethal assassin who could take down his enemies in a matter of seconds.
That's why nobody backed Naruto to survive the fight against Haku. The latter was just too powerful and always a step ahead of his opponent. For the majority of the fight, Haku was in cruise control, and at no point did it seem that Naruto would win. However, Kishimoto knew that he had to keep the hero alive, which is why Naruto was given a short power-up. Also, he made Sasuke put his own body on the line. Otherwise, Haku would have won the fight easily.
Naruto vs. Neji
Kurama Came To Naruto's Rescue
The Chunin Exams are a special event that takes place in different villages across the world. In Naruto, the exams take place in the Hidden Leaf. As it is a prestigious competition, villages send their most talented genin to compete. Many genin from Hidden Leaf also competed in the exams, and Naruto was one of them. The hero was pitted against Neji Hyuuga in the latter part of the Chunin Exams.
Naruto: 8 Most Impactful Deaths, Ranked
The Naruto series has featured some truly unforgettable deaths, but some have arguably been much more impactful than others.
From the get-go, it was clear that the fight would be exciting, especially after fans had seen Neji in action against Hinata. Just a few minutes into the fight, it became apparent that Neji had the edge against Naruto. The Hyuuga prodigy bombarded Naruto with Gentle Fist techniques, blocking all of his chakra points. If this were to happen to any other person aside from Naruto, they would have lost. However, Naruto was able to overcome this hurdle.
Naruto vs. Pain
Naruto Was Saved By Kushina
Naruto may be a Shonen anime, but it is rather philosophical. Many characters in the series live with a certain philosophy that they're unwilling to compromise on, and Nagato was one of them. After watching how those in power ruined lives, he began to believe that only by knowing each other's pain could the world know true peace. Nagato's approach was radical, and he didn't care who he had to kill. Since he was incapacitated, Nagato used six different bodies, which came to be known as the Six Paths of Pain.
Everybody had the Rinnegan but could only access a certain path. Nagato also used these bodies while fighting Naruto Uzumaki. Despite having mastered the Toad Sage Mode, Naruto struggled against Pain. In fact, he received help from his deceased mother. Needless to say, Naruto got lucky once again.
Naruto vs. Obito
Naruto Survived Because Of Obito's Weak Will
Naruto and Obito were similar in more ways than one. The two were kind and never shied away from helping those in need. However, Obito's perspective of the world changed after what happened to Rin. Her death propelled Obito into helping Madara and working towards Project Tsuki no Me.
Longest Fights In Naruto, Ranked
Good fights need time to bloom, but then again, nobody accused Naruto of being short.
Obito's hard work paid off in Naruto Shippuden as he kick-started the Fourth Great Ninja War. Shortly after the war began, Obito became the jinchuriki of the Ten-Tails, gaining an incredible amount of power in the process. With his newfound abilities, Obito nearly demolished the Shinobi Alliance. Naruto and his allies tried to fight back, but they weren't able to do much with their skillset. So, Naruto changed his approach and tried to talk Obito out of his plans. As expected, Naruto's infamous 'talk-no-jutsu' worked, and Obito decided to drop his goal. If Obito had stayed faithful to his ideas, then Naruto would have been decimated.
Naruto vs. Kaguya
Naruto Received A Lot Of Help From His Friends
Naruto's fight against Kaguya Otsutsuki was different from most of his previous ones. The hero couldn't fight against her in a 1v1 because she was much stronger than him. So, Naruto needed help from Sasuke, Kakashi, Sakura, and Obito to have a fighting chance. However, even the entire group couldn't survive for long against Kaguya, as Obito fell victim to her All Killing Ash Bones.
With Obito seemingly out of the picture, defeat seemed imminent for Naruto and the rest of Team 7. However, Obito somehow managed to share Six Paths Chakra as well as his eyes with Kakashi, which was the turning point in the fight. Ultimately, Kakashi's latest power-up paved the way for Naruto's victory. If Obito had died normally like every other character in the series, then Team 7 would have lost, and Kaguya would have reigned supreme.
