Itachi Uchiha is certainly one of the most loved Naruto characters of all time, and, at the same time, he also plays a pivotal role in Sasuke's journey to becoming the ninja that fans know him to be. Itachi was a brilliant Shinobi, and when it comes to talent, few could match him. Throughout his illustrious career as a shinobi, Itachi achieved great things, however, some of his achievements stand out far more than others and have solidified him as a great in the ninja world.
9 Awakened The Sharingan At 8
While the Uchiha are all known to be geniuses, Itachi was a genius among geniuses. He was absolutely mesmerizing even as a child, and this has been confirmed to the fans by many individuals, including Orochimaru.
Itachi awakened his Sharingan at the young age of eight, and he went on to master this eye quite quickly, impressing even his father, in the process.
8 Became An ANBU Captain At 12
While Awakening the Sharingan was certainly impressive, it was not nearly as impressive as becoming the captain of ANBU Unit at the age of 12. To the general public, this was only revealed when he was 13 years of age.
In truth, Itachi is the youngest ANBU Captain to have ever lived. The fact that, at such a young age, he was able to achieve this much is absolutely incredible.
7 Beat Kakashi With Ease
The first proper demonstration of Itachi's skill in the Naruto series came when he infiltrated Konoha, and there, he was able to absolutely blow away everyone in his path. Eventually, Kakashi stood in his path as well, and fans were absolutely shocked to see the difference in strength between these two individuals.
While Kakashi was already very powerful, he was not able to stand a chance against Itachi. In fact, Kakashi was put in a comatose state by Itachi, and had it not been for Tsunade, he might as well have died.
6 Massacred The Uchiha Clan
While this is certainly not an achievement to be proud of, it is absolutely shocking that Itachi was able to wipe out half of the Uchiha Clan or more by himself in one night. He was helped by Obito during this night, however, the vast majority of the work was done by Itachi himself.
The Uchiha Clan had several mighty shinobi, yet, Itachi was able to get rid of nearly all of them all by himself, which is certainly a showing of his strength.
5 Awakened The Mangekyo Sharingan
Itachi is also one of the very few individuals who went on to awaken the Mangekyo Sharingan. After the death of Shisui, Itachi got access to this powerful eye, and he did incredibly well to gain control over its powers at a very young age. This made Itachi a monster in combat and few could stand their ground against him.
4 Beat Orochimaru Without Even Looking
Itachi Uchiha fought against Orochimaru when both of them were a part of the Akatsuki. Fans know that Orochimaru was obsessed with his Uchiha body, and he wanted to gain control of Itachi.

However, without even looking at him or even lifting a finger in his direction, Itachi was able to defeat Orochimaru, a member of the Legendary Sannin. This was an effortless feat by the Uchiha and it solidified him as one of the strongest.

3 Took Down Yagura Easily
Itachi is one of the few individuals to fight and survive a battle against a Perfect Jinchuriki. In fact, in the battle against Yagura, Itachi was the sole reason why the Kage was subdued in the first place.
Had it not been for his powerful Amaterasu, Yagura would have crushed him as well and that certainly is an achievement.
2 Took On Sasuke While Blind
One of Itachi's biggest achievements in his fighting career was taking on Sasuke Uchiha, his little brother, while being blind. By this point, Itachi could hardly even see, yet he was able to dominate the battle against his brother.
In fact, Itachi was actually letting Sasuke win this fight. Had he been serious in the fight against Sasuke, he would have crushed him with ease.
1 Saved The Shinobi Alliance
In the Ninja War, Itachi was reanimated and made to serve Kabuto at first. However, thanks to his brilliant mind, Itachi was able to break Kabuto's control and, from there onwards, go on to save the Shinobi Alliance.
Itachi ended up fighting against Kabuto with Sasuke at his side. With Sasuke, Itachi was aiming to utilize Izanami. This was the only technique with which Kabuto could have been taken down, given that even his death would not have broken Edo Tensei.
