Naruto became the Seventh Hokage of Konoha and also went on to save the world during the Fourth Great Ninja War. While Naruto certainly did achieve greatness, he didn't do it on his own. Naruto Uzumaki was always driven by Sasuke Uchiha, and the two have always competed with each other, even into adulthood. This rivalry remains to be one of the very best in the Boruto anime, and while they were equal at one point, it has now officially been confirmed by Kishimoto that Sasuke is stronger at the moment.

Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha were always incredibly close in terms of power. When the Fourth Great Ninja War ended, Naruto Uzumaki was the stronger of the two, and fans knew that very well. This was especially the case after Naruto received the second half of Kurama and a prosthetic arm made from Hashirama Cells, while Sasuke lost an arm. However, Kishimoto himself confirmed that by adulthood, Naruto and Sasuke were equals.

In the Boruto era, things changed greatly. The power balance shifted drastically when it was officially revealed that Naruto lost the power of Kurama. After using Baryon Mode, Naruto Uzumaki lost his biggest power. To balance things out, Kishimoto had Sasuke lose the Rinnegan, but it isn't the same level of loss.

At this point, it's already a given that Sasuke is stronger than Naruto, but there's more. In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, Kishimoto officially confirms that Sasuke and Boruto were training during the timeskip. Both of them got stronger during the timeskip, and Sasuke even fought Code. Shockingly enough, in this fight, Sasuke actually managed to take Code's eye. This was the same Code said to be stronger than even Jigen, and Sasuke, without his Rinnegan, put up a fight.

For Now, Naruto Uzumaki Remains Sealed

Right now in Boruto, it is quite clear to see that Sasuke Uchiha is stronger than Naruto Uzumaki. However, this difference in power won't remain. When Naruto returns, he will most likely get even stronger, which means that no matter what, Naruto and Sasuke will always be equal in power. Fans can only hope that Boruto does justice to these two legends from Naruto and treats them with the care they deserve.
