Naruto: Kishimoto Reveals The Strongest Ninja Village, And It Isn't Konoha 

The world of Naruto is built upon the blood and sacrifices of ninjas who once fought gruesome battles to ensure their survival. Thankfully, the era of bloodshed in Naruto ended when Hashirama Senju, together with Madara Uchiha, went on to create the very first ninja village, Konohagakure.

Following suit, more ninja villages were established, with the five main ones being Konoha, Kumo, Iwa, Suna, and Kiri. Out of these villages, Konoha has largely been the strongest, but the balance of power shifts often. At this point in time, it seems that another village is the strongest in the Naruto world, especially after the downfall of Naruto and Sasuke.

The Strength Of Ninja Villages Over The Years

• Konoha Was Weaker Than Kumo Before The Ninja War
• Naruto And Sasuke Made Konoha The Strongest

Since the ninja villages were created, the balance of power has shifted quite often. To maintain the balance of power between the villages, Tailed Beast distribution was carried out by Hashirama Senju, the First Hokage. Konoha, naturally, kept the strongest Tailed Beast, Kurama. But, the other villages kept getting stronger as well.

After the death of the Fourth Hokage, Konoha actually had an old and weak Third Hokage leading them, and Kurama was not under control either. At this point, Kumogakure, who not only had Killer Bee, a perfect Jinchuriki, but also had Lightning Ay, someone who could fight the said Tailed Beast, at hand.

After Pain’s attack, Konoha got even weaker, especially since Sasuke had defected as well. But, the Fourth Great Ninja War remedied that. Naruto and Sasuke reached godly levels of power and they made Konoha the strongest.

Kumogakure Is The Strongest Village Right Now

Kumo Has Advanced Technique To Destroy Planets

While Konoha might seem the strongest on the surface, the fact is that right now, they're actually behind Kumogakure in the Boruto era. This is mainly for two reasons. The first reason is that Naruto and Sasuke are now gone. As fans know, Naruto Uzumaki has been sealed away and the village is now led by Shikamaru Nara. Kurama is only a baby, and most certainly not as strong as other Tailed Beasts. Sasuke Uchiha has been turned into a tree, and that means the village has no big protector. Boruto has been cast out of the village as well, and while he does protect it, he isn't technically a part of Konoha.

Meanwhile, Kumogakure had made great advancements. It was shown during The Last: Naruto The Movie, that Kumogakure have the power to destroy the moon with their chakra cannon. In fact, this chakra cannon can most certainly destroy a planet as well. As far as fans know, Konoha doesn't have planet-busting technology yet. If Kumogakure can destroy planets with weapons that have a range of reaching the moon and more, then one only needs to think of what weapons they have for something as small as a ninja village.

Kumo Could've Advanced Further

Another fact is that Kumogakure’s chakra cannon is from a decade or more ago. Since then, science has advanced greatly, which means that if Kumogakure pursued advanced weaponry at the same rate, then they most likely have weapons of mass destruction that can rival even godly beings, such as the Otsutsuki. This also makes sense, given that they fought Madara in the war and likely wanted to develop something to fight and defeat a threat of that level. At this point, Konoha might have stronger ninjas, but when it comes to technology, Kumo can already destroy planets and possibly more.
