This is largely because he lost his Rinnegan in Boruto after it was stabbed by Momoshiki Otsutsuki, who was possessing Sasuke's very own pupil, Boruto Uzumaki. Having lost his Rinnegan, many fans consider Sasuke to be far weaker than before, but that won't be the case for long. Kishimoto has already set up Sasuke's next big power. He may be trapped right now, but Sasuke will eventually get access to the Thorn Soul Bulb, which means a Ten Tails level power could be in store for him.

Sasuke Uchiha and Naruto Uzumaki are the heartbeat of the Naruto franchise, even in Boruto. No matter who the protagonist is, the most beloved characters will always be Sasuke and Naruto. As such, everyone, including the authors, knows that it is important to keep them relevant and not to taint their legacy.

Boruto has not treated them fairly so far, but if Two Blue Vortex has proven anything so far, it is that it is fixing all the mistakes of the predecessor series. This is why there is hope for both Naruto and Sasuke to get stronger after their return. In fact, Sasuke has already received one power-up in Two Blue Vortex as he was able to fight Code without limiters and hold his own, all the while taking his eye. This is a feat in itself. But, Kishimoto wants Sasuke to get even stronger, and that's why a bigger power has been set up for him in the form of the Thorn Soul Bulb.

As fans know, the Thorn Soul Bulb is extremely important if Sasuke Uchiha is to be saved. As seen with Moegi, the Thorn Soul Bulb must be absorbed by the tree and then the person can be saved. In the case of Sasuke Uchiha, the same logic applies. What a lot of fans don't realize is that the Thorn Soul Bulb contains the essence of the Shinju, which in itself is an extension of the Ten Tails. This means it contains the Ten-Tails DNA, and anyone who is given it should receive a power buff, even Moegi. When Sasuke receives Hidari's Thorn Soul Bulb, he should gain Ten-Tails powers and become even stronger.

Sasuke Uchiha Will Be Stronger With His Next Power

Sasuke Could Regain The Rinnegan

The biggest way in which the Thorn Soul Bulb could affect Sasuke Uchiha is by giving him the Rinnegan again. As fans know, all the Shinju have Rinnegan, and Sasuke already has an Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan. If he receives the essence of the Ten-Tails, his remaining eye could manifest a Rinnegan, and he would then become a monstrously powerful ninja once again.

For now, Sasuke is asleep and it will surely be some time before he is freed, but in the next 10 or so chapters, fans could genuinely see Hidari being defeated, which means Sasuke Uchiha would finally return to the main plot stronger than ever, and fans would absolutely love to see that.
