This article contains spoilers from the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex series.
The Naruto series is one of the most beloved anime franchises and Kishimoto established a lasting legacy for it that has stood the test of time. Fans of the Naruto series absolutely adore the protagonist, Naruto Uzumaki, and understandably so. Naruto Uzumaki is an incredible character who epitomizes never giving up and conquering your weaknesses. He's such a likable character that even years after the conclusion of the Naruto series, fans follow Boruto to this day, largely for him.
Boruto: Naruto Uzumaki Has Officially Been Surpassed By A New Gen Ninja
Naruto Uzumaki is strong, but a new gen Ninja has surpassed him in Boruto.
Naruto Uzumaki ended the Naruto series as the strongest in the world. He was officially the strongest ninja alive, with Sasuke being his only rival, and eventually, years later, he also went on to become the Seventh Hokage of Konoha, fulfilling his dream. Naruto's status as the strongest was undisputed. However, Boruto has certainly changed the equation and fans now know that Naruto Uzumaki has officially been dethroned from the position of the strongest. His son, Boruto Uzumaki has replaced him officially, and while some fans don't like the, it seems that it is the direction that Kishimoto is taking.

Boruto Uzumaki Has Strengthened A Lot Over The Timeskip
- Naruto is sealed away
- Boruto Uzumaki is continuously getting stronger
For anyone to replace Naruto Uzumaki wouldn't normally be easy. Naruto Uzumaki was the Jinchuriki of the Nine Tails, Kurama, and he had access to the power of the other Tailed Beasts, along with Six Paths chakra. His overall powers were so immense that he could fight against the likes of the Otsutsuki and even dominate the battles without too much trouble.

With Baryon Mode, Naruto Uzumaki took things one step further and became the strongest mortal in the world. However, things have changed now. Naruto Uzumaki has lost Kurama, and to make things worse, he's been sealed by Kawaki. Now, a new strongest ninja has dethroned Naruto, and it's none other than Boruto.
Boruto: Kishimoto Reveals A New Eye In The Boruto Series, And It's Stronger Than The Rinnegan
The Rinnegan is strong, but it's far from the most powerful eye in Boruto.
Boruto Uzumaki was always bound to be the protector that rivals Naruto, given that he's the protagonist of the Boruto series. He's now officially surpassed the weakened version of Naruto Uzumaki. Boruto was trained by Sasuke during the timeskip, and later on, by Kashin Koji. His current power level sees him capable of fighting even the Otsutsuki monsters and winning against them, and that all but confirms he's surpassed Naruto Uzumaki.
Those blue eyes will take everything from you. — Momoshiki Otsutsuki to Boruto Uzumaki
Boruto Will Control Momoshiki's Power Eventually
Boruto Is An Otsutsuki Level Threat
While Boruto Uzumaki is already one of the strongest ninjas in the world right now, possibly the strongest, fans know that there is more on the way. Boruto isn't at his peak and he still has a lot more potential to fulfill. Fans know that he has the power of Karma that he hasn't mastered yet, and that eventually, he'll learn to use all of Momoshiki's powers at full capacity, making him a legendary monster that few can rival. For now, Boruto Uzumaki doesn't seem to be close to mastering this ability, but it is only a matter of time. Once Boruto is pushed to the limits, he will be forced to grow stronger and master new powers, such as his Karma.
