NBA 2K26 follows the trends of previous franchise installments and allows players to create their own future basketball superstar and play alongside the best talents in the NBA. Players have the freedom to build their player how they see fit and mould their build around their favorite players.
Your player build and positional preferences will have an impact over the teams you'll best fill in with in MyCareer mode. With this in mind, the guide below will give you some tips on which teams to play for as a Center in NBA 2K26's MyCareer mode.

Portland Trail Blazers
Play Alongside Strong Veteran Guards
Damian Lillard has finally returned home to Portland, and now has company of a former champion in Jrue Holiday. The only thing that's missing from the otherwise solid mix of vets and young talent? A solid Center. As a big man, Portland is a great place to launch your career and become the one Dame passes the torch to when he calls it a day.
With the likes of Dame and Jrue manning the backcourt, expect to rack up some solid assist numbers if you can dominate the glass and dish to the perimeter. Not only this, but both veterans have great court vision, so points should be easy to come by from pick-and-rolls.
Los Angeles Lakers
LeBron AND Luka?!
You may not necessarily be handed the reins when LeBron retires, but the LA Lakers have two generational talents at their disposal who are excellent scorers and facilitators. As a solid rebounding Center, your potential will be limitless with the wealth of offensive options at your disposal.
Not only that, but the Lakers have a pretty solid defensive lineup, so you won't need to shoulder the burden of protecting the paint yourself, meaning you'll have a great chance of building great chemistry with the team. Expectations will never not be high for the Lakers, but the team has the potential to go all the way with a talented C.
Indiana Pacers
Fill in Myles Turner-Sized Shoes
In perhaps the most surprising move of the 2025 off-season, long-time Pacer Myles Turner has taken his services over to Milwaukee to play alongside the Greek Freak. While Pascal Siakam is a solid big man in his own right, Indiana would benefit from having him slot into PF and get someone to pick up where Turner left off.
After going incredibly close to winning the championship in the 2025-25 season, Indiana wouldn't need to do much differently aside from covering for Myles. You could replicate his style as a Center for the Pacers as a stretch big that can shoot from distance as well as being an absolute menace in the paint.
Detroit Pistons
Help a Young Guard and Core Realize Their Full Potential
The Pistons came into the playoffs with something to prove, and while they didn't get out of the first round, they still put the league on notice. They've got a young and very talented roster, with Cade Cunningham going from strength to strength. It took the Knicks six hard-fought games to come out of the series, and even then it took Jalen Brunson producing one of his best moments of the season with his clutch dagger to do it.
With the Pistons continuing to build momentum as the young core gets more and more experience, it's time for them to get a bonefide demon in the paint to push them beyond their 2024-25 results. The Pistons could do with an injection of the Detroit team of old, so an aggressive shot blocker is exactly what the fanbase wants, needs, and deserves.
Phoenix Suns
Help Booker Do What the Durant Era Couldn't
As is the case whenever Kevin Durant dons a new color, the expectations were incredibly high that Devin Booker would finally be sporting a championship ring on his finger alongside the Slim Reaper, but it just wasn't to be. There are many lingering questions on where the Suns go from here in 2025-26 and beyond, and your player could very well be the answer.
The days of the likes of Durant and Ayton are long gone, but Booker has shown that he can gel extremely well with a talented big man. Look to build an athletic Center with a strong vertical, and you'll be on the receiving end of many an Alley Oop as Phoenix chases a title.
Golden State Warriors
Steph Isn't Finished Just Yet
The Warriors' dynasty might be over, but Steph Curry continues to defy Father Time as a top-ten-rated player in NBA 2K26. He's undoubtedly one of the greatest shooters to ever step foot on a basketball court, so now's the time to get your chance with Steph before he hangs up his boots.
Draymond Green is currently manning the Center spot for Golden State, but with Jimmy Butler's adaptability in multiple positions, and Green's ability to also man the 4 spot, your injection as a talented big man could shake up the structure of the team and help to really establish them as a top-tier championship threat once more.
Boston Celtics
Exceed The Much Lower Expectations
Coming into the 2024-25 playoffs, the Celtics knew that this would be their last chance to grab glory again with their current lineup. Unfortunately, due to two massive defensive plays by Mikal Bridges and a season-ending injury to Jayson Tatum, the Cs struggled to get out of the starting blocks in the second round against the Knicks and crashed out in spectacular fashion.
After trading away Jrue Holiday and parting ways with their big man in Kristaps Porzingis, the expectations on the Celtics are still high, but not quite what they were last year. They will continue their rebuild as they look towards more banners in the future, but they'll need a talented Center before they can reach for the stars again.
Charlotte Hornets
Help LaMelo Ball Out
Hopefully, we will see the Charlotte Hornets' announcer in and NBA 2K in the future, but there's still plenty to be excited about in Charlotte. While they've not got as solid a core as other young teams like the Pistons, the one thing the Hornets really need is to give LaMelo Ball some help to realize his limitless potential, and a partner to receive his flashy dishes.
With the talent still not quite where it needs to be for the Hornets, your Center build could really help shape how the squad shapes up. It might be a little more of a long-term committment, but a great Center could help attract other talent to the team. The Hornets need to take New York's approach and build the team piece by piece, and give other big names a reason to want to come to Charlotte.
