Even though the City has been slimmed down in NBA 2K26, vehicles are still in the game, and go-karts are still the fastest way to get around. You only start out with a skateboard in NBA 2K26, but you'll be able to work your way up to a go-kart in no time.
There's no vehicle store in the City this year, so you won't be able to buy new modes of transportation with VC in NBA 2K26. Vehicles like go-karts have been moved over to the challenges page instead. Here's how you can unlock a go-kart in NBA 2K26.

NBA 2K26 is a lot of fun to play, but can be challenging for those who are new to the sport and franchise.
How to Get a Go-Kart in NBA 2K26
The only way to get a go-kart in NBA 2K26 is to complete Lifetime Challenges in MyCareer. Once you've completed 40 Lifetime Challenges in total, you'll unlock the Red Lightning Go-Kart for use in the City. It's much faster than the starting skateboard, and you'll be able to show off to other players who are just starting out.
You can't buy a go-kart with VC, so Lifetime Challenges are the only way to go. You can complete any of the 40 Lifetime Challenges at least, so you can pick and choose the easiest ones. After unlocking the go-kart, it'll be available for all of your builds. To check your Lifetime Challenges progress, load into MyCareer and pause the game. Then, select Quests/Challenges, choose City Challenges, and open the Lifetime Challenge s section.
If you want a quick upgrade from the starting skateboard, complete all 15 Starter Challenges in the City to earn the BMX bike. It's not a go-kart, but it's something.
There will likely be other ways to earn a go-kart as new seasons roll out in NBA 2K26, so keep an eye out for new events and seasonal rewards that feature go-kart skins. Even though the naming scheme is a bit confusing, unlocking any go-kart skin will unlock the go-kart as well.
If you want to earn the go-kart as fast as possible, then flip through the Lifetime Challenges list and pick the ones related to your favorite game modes. They'll get completed while you play normally. There are some easy ones for MyCourt, and the Learn 2K tutorial challenges can be knocked out in just a few minutes if you know how to play.
