Neon White may be arriving on PlayStation consoles soon, a Twitter account connected to the PlayStation Store backend has implied. 2022 has been a great year for creative and innovative indie games and Neon White is one of the highest-rated titles to come from a small studio in 2022. While the game has only been available on PC and Nintendo Switch since its launch in June, it could be arriving on new platforms soon.

Neon White is the debut game from Angel Matrix, a small team led by Donut County designer Ben Esposito. Neon White is a speedrun focused first-person shooter that utilizes cards instead of traditional weapons as seen in many other first-person shooters. The game is stylized after 1990s anime and cult Japanese PlayStation 2 games like Killer7, and features a story with voice acting from anime dub voice actors such as Steve Blum and SungWon Cho.

Neon White debuted as one of the highest-rated indie games of the year upon its release in June, sitting at 90 on Metacritic for its PC version, and 88 for the Nintendo Switch version. Now it appears that Angel Matrix will be bringing the stylish platforming and shooting to other consoles, as Twitter account PlayStation Game Size has teased that the game has appeared on the backend for the PlayStation Store for PS4 and PS5.

While Neon White will undoubtedly run on PlayStation consoles, the game's focus on fast reflex platforming and gameplay may make it a unique case on Sony's console, particularly regarding its use of the DualSense and DualShock 4 controllers. On Nintendo Switch, Neon White makes heavy use of the gyro control capabilities of the console and the Pro Controller, same goes for the Steam Deck version of the game. Given that both PlayStation controllers feature this ability, the game should control great on the platforms.

Given that Annapurna Interactive has a history of bringing games to PlayStation Plus and Xbox Game Pass, it wouldn't be too much of a surprise to see that the title could be part of the PlayStation Plus Extra line-up for the month, which is yet to be revealed as of now. Hopefully the full line-up will be announced in the coming days.

Neon White is available now for Nintendo Switch and PC. A PS4 and PS5 version is rumored to be in development.
