Who doesn't love a mixture of mystery, murder, and massive stars? Netflix is out here hoping everybody is ready for more Knives Out, and it seems like a good bet that people are champing at the bit for more.

Netflix is bringing viewers around the world more adventures in the tumultuous life of Daniel Craig's Benoit Blanc. When Knives Out was released in late 2019, no one expected it to become one of the most surprising hits of the past decade. On a skimpy budget of $40 million, Knives Out came out of nowhere to gross over $300 million and an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay. It also reminded everyone that Chris Evans could act outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and introduced the world to Ana de Armas. Three years later, in December 2022, Netflix brought Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery to the world and proved that lightning could strike twice. Can Rian Johnson and company pull it off a third time?

Knives Out Fans Must Watch This Brand-New Murder Mystery Series On Netflix

Murder mysteries never get old, and Netflix's The Residence proves it. Blending suspense with White House drama, it’s a fresh, addictive whodunit.

During Netflix's massive Tudum fan event on Saturday evening, Knives Out fans finally got a first look at the upcoming Wake Up Dead Man. While it wasn't a full-on feature trailer, it did set the stage for the third Benoit Blanc film, and it did do a solid job of reiterating that Rian Johnson and company might've outdone themselves with the cast this time around. Obviously, Daniel Craig is returning as Blanc, but he's being joined by Josh O'Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack, and Thomas Haden Church. Talk about a collection of blindingly bright stars.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery Brings New Faces To Daniel Craig's Franchise

While the first Knives Out film took a satirical look at the adverse effects generational wealth has on a family, and the second lampooned the uber-rich, the third movie apparently has religion in its sights. Official details are still under wraps, but it's clear some kind of scandal is afoot involving a death. Craig's Benoit Blanc mentions an "impossible crime" in the teaser. He goes on to say, "This was dressed as a miracle, but it's just a murder, and I solve murders."

We don't know much about the entire cast's roles, but there are a few details regarding who a few of the famous faces are playing. For example, Josh O'Connor is playing Rev. Jud Duplenticy, a priest clearly involved in some type of incident featured in the teaser. Josh Brolin is playing another priest, Msgr. Jefferson Wicks, Mila Kunis's Geraldine Scott is the local police chief, and Jeremy Renner stars as Nat Sharp, some kind of doctor. The only thing we know for sure is that Netflix, Rian Johnson, Daniel Craig, and everyone else will have numerous twists in store for fans come December.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery is set to release on December 12, 2025 on Netflix.
