When it comes to the biggest and best anime these days, One Piece often dominates the conversations. Fans know very well that One Piece is the greatest manga in Japan and also the most popular one worldwide. That said, the anime for the series isn't as successful. One Piece has made up ground in the last few years especially, but it seems it still isn't the most watched anime on Netflix, at least not for the first half of 2025.

Netflix's Most Watched Anime For 2025's First Half Has Been Revealed

Recently, the list of Netflix's most watched anime for the year 2025 was revealed. Of course, 2025 isn't over yet, which means that this list isn't final. Instead, it was made quite clear that this list only covered the most watched Netflix Anime for the first half of 2025, which means all the way up to the end of June.

While most fans would've expected some ongoing anime to win, the winner is actually quite surprising. Netflix's most watched anime for the year 2025 is none other than Naruto. Based on the latest report, Naruto managed to get over 40 million watch hours, which is way more than most anime. In the second spot was Studio Ghibli in general, which most definitely includes all the different Ghibli anime. Even together, all of Ghibli couldn't beat Naruto, as they only had 39 million watch hours.

Naruto Beats One Piece And Is The Most Watched Netflix Anime
One Piece Is No. 5
While Naruto tops the list, Detective Conan sits 3rd with 38 Million Watch Hours, while Pokémon is 4th, also with 38 Million Watch Hours. One Piece actually takes the fifth spot on the list, with 28 million watch hours, which is far less than most anime.
That said, there is a catch here. Not all of One Piece is available on Netflix, which means fans can't actually watch all of it there and therefore, the watch hours for One Piece are a lot lower. If One Piece were fully available on Netflix, it would've topped the list quite easily.
Surprisingly, Demon Slayer was only 8th on the list, with a total of 23 million watch hours, and it was actually beaten by Sakamoto Days and The Seven Deadly Sins.
