Over the past few months, multiple reports have suggested that entertainment giants like Paramount-Skydance, Comcast, and Netflix have been bidding to acquire Warner Bros. And its assets. Now, after months of speculation, Netflix has confirmed its acquisition of WB.
While maintaining the current operations at Warner Bros., Netflix promises to offer a wider range of options and greater value to its consumers. This is definitely a landmark deal when it comes to the entertainment and streaming space. Once the deal closes, Warner Bros. Media like Game of Thrones will be available to stream on Netflix.

The Total Enterprise Value Of WB Is Somewhere Around $82.7 billion
On December 5, Netflix confirmed in a press release that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Warner Bros., including its film and television studios, as well as its streaming assets, HBO Max and HBO. At the time of signing the deal, the cash and stock transaction is valued at $27.75/WBD share. At the same time, the total enterprise value for WB is estimated at around $82.7 billion, with equity value at $72.0 billion.
Per the agreement, each WBD shareholder will get $23.25 in cash and $4.501 in shares of Netflix common stock for each share of WBD common stock. Warner Bros. Had previously announced that it would separate Discovery Global, which includes CNN, TNT, HGTV, and Discovery+, into a new publicly-traded company. That's still happening, with the new company being formed by the end of the third quarter of 2026. The transaction between Netflix and Warner Bros. Will close once the separation of Streaming & Studios and Global Networks is complete by next year.

Sometime after the acquisition, Warner Bros. Properties like Big Bang Theory, Game of Thrones, and The Wizard of Oz will be available to stream on Netflix. Every movie and TV show in the DC Universe is also on the table. Ted Sarandos, co-CEO of Netflix, gave an official statement to celebrate the most ambitious and legendary acquisition within the entertainment space:

Greg Peters, co-CEO of Netflix, also says that the acquisition will " accelerate our business ." According to Peters, Warner Bros. Has done incredible work and reached millions of users worldwide with its movies and TV shows. And this deal will allow them to reach an even broader audience and offer even better options to consumers through a world-class streaming service.
