The legacy of old-school video games continues to delight audiences through spiritual successors, such as the new snowboarding arcade title Slopecrashers, which is a modern-day take on games like Snowboard Kids and SSX Tricky. Originally released on the Nintendo 64 and later ported to the PlayStation, Snowboard Kids became a cult classic for its colorful characters and addictive gameplay, and Slopecrashers looks to check off all the nostalgic boxes while bringing in refreshing changes that are already receiving praise from fans.

Slopecrashers Brings the Spirit of Snowboard Kids to Modern Systems

Solo developed by byteparrot, Slopecrashers is an arcade snowboard racing game where players gear up as a wild crew of animals and compete with stylish tricks and vibrant power-ups to become the ultimate champion of the slopes. Players can explore 20 different tracks through a campaign with over 120 events and side quests, try unique game modes, discover a variety of unlockables, and can choose to do so either solo or in local or online multiplayer. Similar to its predecessors, Slopecrashers emphasizes the use of stunts and combos to earn boosts to rocket ahead of the competition, along with customizable gliders, jets, and grappling hooks that add a wacky twist to this snowboarding adventure. Slopecrashers is now available for PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One, and is coming soon to PlayStation 4.

Offering builds similar to the racer and vehicle selection in Mario Kart games, Slopecrashers stars nine voice-acted cartoon animal riders, 38 snowboards (including out-of-the-box gear like frying pans), 25 game-changing tools, and more to help players construct their ideal snowboarding champion. Players can compete in races, slaloms, stunt shows, and even boss battles in either Campaign Mode, Grand Prix Mode, or Arcade Mode. The local multiplayer offers split-screen for up to four players, while the online multiplayer lets up to eight players battle it out and unleash pure chaos in Slopecrashers.
