The Japanese retailer FuRyu has announced a new NieR: Automata 2B figure that’s open for pre-orders right now. However, buyers should be prepared to make a dent in the old wallet, as the price is extortionate. The popular NieR: Automata character has received plenty of alternate figures before, including models from Play Arts Kai, Good Smile Company, and Bandai S.H. Figuarts, but fans may have a hard time justifying the price of this exquisite doll.
NieR: Automata was first released in 2017 by PlatinumGames and Square Enix, serving as a sequel to 2010’s NieR, which in turn was a spin-off of the Drakengard series. Nier: Automata joins several games with the most endings, alongside the likes of Baldur’s Gate 3, Until Dawn, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, boasting 26 endings. With five titles known to be the main endings, the NieR franchise presents a connected narrative set across several years, and Automata’s endings can range from humorous conclusions to random finalities.

A gamer makes an avatar in Elden Ring that does an incredible job of depicting one of the main characters from NieR: Automata.
FuRyu revealed the new 2B figure was based on the character’s anime design from NieR: Automata Ver1.1a, a 2023 series directed by Ryōji Masuyama, complete with the character’s flowing robes and one-handed sword. The figure is currently available for pre-order through the FuRyu Hobby Mall website for Japanese residents, and non-Japanese residents can secure their doll through the Buyee widget or AmiAmi. NieR: Automata harbors plenty of hilarious 2B memes, but something that’s not funny is the jaw-dropping price of the doll. The figure has a staggering price tag of 198,000 yen (approximately $1,322), but the cost is somewhat justified by its bigger 1/4 scale with a height of around 43 cm (16.93 inches), and the material features traditional Japanese patterns.
FuRyu Announces Expensive 2B Doll From Nier: Automata
Known also by her full name, YoRHa No.2 Type B, 2B is a YoRHa android designed to battle against the droids of the 14th Machine War that have invaded humanity’s planet. The robot quickly became an iconic video games character, so much so that NieR: Automata’s 2B received several mods that implemented her in other titles. In addition to Automata, 2B has also appeared in NieR Reincarnation and Final Fantasy 14.
Square Enix recently announced 15th-anniversary plans for the NieR series, kicking off in April with a special livestream event. The broadcast will present new updates, discussions with key creators and developers, a mini live performance, and much more. Fans of the franchise are also speculating (and keeping their fingers crossed) that the anniversary celebrations will yield a new NieR game announcement, fueled by a flurry of hints stemming from the creators.
