The latest update to the Extra tier of PlayStation Plus has added the open world pirate game Skull and Bones to the lineup. Most of the time, PlayStation Plus subscribers don't get new Extra and Premium games until the middle of the month. However, the ongoing Days of Play promotion has given PS Plus subscribers access to a selection of bonus games across the service's three tiers.
As far as PS Plus Extra goes, subscribers received their first bonus game last week. Another Crab's Treasure was added to the Extra tier of PS Plus, giving subscribers access to an underrated Soulslike where they take on the role of a hermit crab. Another Crab's Treasure is notable for blending Soulslike action with 3D platforming and a great sense of humor. It has become a fan favorite of sorts among members of the Soulslike community, and so anyone with a PS Plus Extra subscription is encouraged to give it a shot.
PS Plus Bad Day Came at the Absolute Worst Time
PlayStation Plus recently suffered one of its worst days to date, and it couldn't have come at a worse time for the subscription service.
Another Crab's Treasure was the first bonus game added to PS Plus Extra as part of the Days of Play promotion, but it certainly isn't the last. The latest addition to the lineup is Skull and Bones, the open world pirate game from Ubisoft that released in 2024 to a mixed reception. While there are those that have enjoyed Skull and Bones, especially after its post-launch updates, there are others who have expressed a great deal of disappointment with the game. Skull and Bones' live-service elements, for example, have proven to be especially controversial.
Skull and Bones is Now on PS Plus Extra
Skull and Bones launched with a $70 price tag that also ruffled some feathers, but being able to play it at no additional charge through one's PS Plus Extra subscription may make some players more forgiving of the game. But even if one isn't excited about the prospect of playing Skull and Bones through PS Plus Extra, there are some more bonus Days of Play games to look forward to in the near future.

Destiny 2: Legacy Collection is coming to PS Plus Extra on June 4, while Myst and Riven are being added to the Premium tier of PlayStation Plus on June 5. Grand Theft Auto 3: The Definitive Edition will be added to PS Plus Extra on June 10 and will cap off the bonus Days of Play games. Plus, PS Plus subscribers can also look forward to the free PS Plus games for June 2025, which will be added to the service on Tuesday, June 3. Clearly, there should be plenty of games for PS Plus subscribers to play in the days ahead.
