According to Polish console modder Modyfikator, the DualSense V2 controller will function for more than 15 hours on a full charge, even using all the DualSense's major features. The reported 15-hour battery life is a noticeable upgrade from past versions of the DualSense, with the controllers typically only lasting 6-10 hours with low usage of DualSense features. Modyfikator points to several re-designed functions of the DualSense V2 as major contributors to the improvements, including lower charging temperatures and big changes to the controller's internal components.
Fans looking to benefit from the improved functionality and battery life of the DualSense V2 should keep a close eye on new controllers. Savvy shoppers have already discovered a major way to identify the new PS5 controller before purchasing, with DualSense V2 controllers featuring "CFI-ZCT2W" as the product code on the box.
