Every week, approximately a million games are released on Steam, so keeping track of everything can be fairly difficult. Putting aside huge projects that anyone remotely interested in the industry will have heard of, missing out on some potentially exciting names debuting on Valve's platform is almost guaranteed unless you check Steam's New Releases and Upcoming Releases pages daily.
This week is no different, as there are plenty of pretty cool titles that might slip through the cracks. If you are into American Football, you don't need to be told about the existence of EA Sports Madden NFL 26; however, these upcoming new Steam games might hit the mark with a few people.
The lineup includes games that have already been released, along with a few titles that are about to debut. Make sure to check out the Steam Reviews as they can be very helpful this early into a project's lifespan. These are also not the only worthwhile games debuting on Steam this week.
Deadzone: Rogue (1.0 Release)
Co-Op FPS Roguelike

Announced a bit less than a year ago, Deadzone: Rogue has now made its full debut, shaping up to be another solid co-op roguelite shooter. Frankly, the world already has quite a few of these types of releases, but Prophecy Games' title manages to stand out from the crowd in a mostly positive way. The gunplay is frantic and fun, and the roguelike upgrades feel meaningful rather than just stat boosts designed to keep you on the same level as enemies. You have your typical array of sci-fi-themed weapons, but they are complemented by elemental attacks that provide both style and variety.
Deadzone: Rogue Is A Space Station Deathtrap You’ll Keep Coming Back To
From stealth phases to molten shotguns, here’s what makes Deadzone: Rogue unique.
The setting is nothing too unique, as players wake up on a seemingly abandoned space station that has a bit of an issue with deadly aliens and robots, but it works well as a backdrop for a fast-paced shooter. There is also an overarching mystery, so there is stuff to learn about your situation. While intended for online co-op, Deadzone: Rogue supports offline single-player, so you don't have to worry about losing access if the servers go offline.
Abyssus
Co-Op FPS Roguelite... I Promise This Is The Last One
Abyssus
- Released
- August 12, 2025
Abyssus and Deadzone: Rogue releasing at the same time is, honestly, a bit unfortunate, as they will likely compete for attention due to their similarities. They are both roguelike/roguelite shooters that see you (and maybe a group of friends) head into a creepy setting filled with monsters, where your goal is to explore, kill, get stronger, and learn more about the area and its history. They are essentially targeting the same audience, and there isn't all that much separating them in terms of quality.
Like Deadzone, Abyssus has responsive gameplay that starts strong and gets better as more explosive guns and abilities are unlocked. Abyssus is a roguelite that allows for slightly more continuation between runs, but the core gameplay still amounts to run-and-gun mayhem (in the best possible way). Instead of a space station, this game takes place in a sprawling underground cavern with fixed rooms that are randomized for each run. Single-player is available, but Abyssus shines in co-op.
Lost Twins 2

Side-scrolling puzzle platformers are not particularly hard to come by on Steam, but they are popular and ever-present for a reason. When done well, they tend to provide a solid rest bite between longer, more tiring adventures. Playdew's Lost Twins 2 seems set to guide players through a vibrant and creative journey revolving around two kids, and it looks like a pretty impressive sequel to the original mobile game that came out more than a decade ago.
While playable solo, the game appears to encourage 2-player co-op, including supporting local multiplayer for people who prefer to play in the same room. Lost Twins 2 is even inspired by Studio Ghibli (Hayao Miyazaki, specifically), which is always a good thing. That said, solo runs do not seem to be an afterthought, and puzzles should work well in those types of playthroughs.
Iwakura Aria
A Visual Novel With Haunting Imagery & A Strong Story

- Platform(s)
- Nintendo Switch, PC
Iwakura Aria debuted in 2024 in some regions, but its NA launch did not happen until August 14, 2025. Compared to any other game mentioned in this article, Mages' project is the safest bet, not only because there is a relatively established consensus on its quality, but also because visual novels are particular. Like, you probably already know if this game might be for you after just seeing the cover art, especially since major VN releases are not all that common. Furthermore, Mages is a respectable name with ties to names like Steins;Gate, Chaos;Head, and Memories Off.
As with all of these story-driven games, you should try to go in as blindly as possible, as this is 100% a mystery that should be discovered rather than spoiled. That said, Iwakura Aria takes place in Japan years after World War 2, where orphans of the latter have become common. You end up cast as a mansion's new housekeeper, and while things seem relatively OK at first, you will eventually come to realize that nothing is as it seems.
Bendy: Lone Wolf
A Remake of Boris And The Dark Survival

If you are not that into the Bendy and the Ink Machine universe, you might not be aware that it is even a franchise with multiple games. But, well, that is the reality, and Boris and the Dark Survival is one of a handful of spin-offs. Released in 2020 on mobile and PC (but mostly associated with the former), the game follows Buddy Boris as he explores the floors of Joey Drew Studios in search of items and revelations, but he is not alone (obviously). He needs to find a set amount of supplies and make it back to the elevator before being caught.
The concept is pretty simple, but it is a fun project. Joey Drew Studios has opted to straight-up remake Boris and the Dark Survival as Bendy: Lone Wolf, and the latter's debut coincides with the former's store removal. Moving forward, only the new version will be available to purchase. Along with a graphical boost, the remake should come with quite a few upgrades, particularly improvements to combat and the addition of more content.
