Nintendo Switch 2 gamers have two notable releases coming on Thursday, August 14 in the form of Drag x Drive and Madden NFL 26. The Nintendo Switch 2 has been an incredible success so far, selling over 6 million units to date. New Switch 2 games have been released on a consistent basis since the console's launch in June, ensuring that there is a steady supply of fresh experiences for early adopters to check out.
When the Nintendo Switch 2 launched, it did so with Mario Kart World and a handful of other exclusives. Then, on July 17, Donkey Kong Bananza released for the Switch 2, earning rave reviews and becoming one of the year's highest-rated new game releases in the process. The next big day Switch 2 owners will want to keep an eye on is August 14.
An Upcoming Switch 2 Game Is Getting a Free Trial, but There’s a Catch
A highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 title is getting a free trial ahead of its launch, but it comes with an unfortunate catch.
On August 14, Switch 2 owners will be treated to Drag x Drive and Madden NFL 26. Drag x Drive is the next Switch 2 exclusive game from Nintendo. A multiplayer-focused 3v3 wheelchair basketball game, Drag x Drive is looking to take advantage of the Joy-Con 2's mouse controls. Madden NFL 26, meanwhile, is the next installment in EA's long-running Madden series. What makes Madden NFL 26's debut on the Switch 2 so notable is that it marks the first time that a Madden game has been released on a Nintendo platform since Madden NFL 13 launched for the Wii U all the way back in 2012.
Switch 2 is Getting Drag x Drive and Madden NFL 26 on the Same Day
Madden NFL fans on Nintendo consoles have been waiting a staggering 13 years for another entry in the series, with Madden NFL 26 shaping up to be very promising. Early previews of the game have been positive, and it's been said that Madden NFL 26 runs well on the Switch 2. While versions of the games on other platforms may have better graphics, there's no denying that being able to take Madden NFL on the go is a big selling point and could very well drive significant interest in the Switch 2 version of the game.
Drag x Drive looks like it could be fun as well, and it's an interesting gamble for Nintendo. Drag x Drive is releasing at a budget price of $19.99, but those that want to try before they buy will have the opportunity to do so. Those subscribed to the Nintendo Switch Online service can participate in the Drag x Drive Global Jam on August 9 from 3am to 7am PT, then again from 5pm to 9pm PT. Finally, on August 10, the Drag x Drive Global Jam will host its final session from 9am to 1pm PT. So while Switch 2 owners will have to wait for August 14 to play the full game, they won't have to wait that long to give Drag x Drive a go for themselves.
