New World: Aeternum is a massive new expansion on the original Amazon Games title, and offers players a brand-new experience from the 2021 New World. With a huge map to explore, more quests to complete, and both PvP and PvE experiences to have, there's plenty to do in this release.
While the game is relatively approachable for newcomers to the genre, many of the game's mechanics aren't always explicitly explained, even the basic ones. Players who wish to know how to put away their weapon in New World: Aeternum to move more freely can find the answers right here.
How To Fast Travel in New World: Aeternum
New World: Aeternum players can utilize the game's fast travel feature to traverse Aeternum with ease.
How To Sheathe Your Weapon in New World: Aeternum
Sheathing your weapon is a simple process in New World: Aeternum, and can be achieved by holding the swap weapon button. For console players, this is Triangle on PlayStation and Y on Xbox, whereas this will be the ` button, which is to the left of the 1 key.
Putting your weapon away doesn't appear to have any real benefits, but it does avoid your character being in situations where it seems unnatural or awkward to be carrying it, especially for larger weapons. It also makes traveling look more natural if you are running through the many territories in the game.
All Weapon Types in New World: Aeternum
One of the great things about New World: Aeternum is that you're not committed to one particular character class or playstyle. By simply changing the weapons you are wielding, and perhaps doing a respec on your character, you can completely change how your experience plays out.
Sheathing your weapon doesn't have a significant impact on your gameplay, but it does look far more natural to walk through settlements without holding onto some of the bulkier weapons like great axes or war hammers. With that said, there are a number of different weapons to choose from, with the range consisting of:
- Blunderbuss
- Bow
- Flail and Shield
- Gauntlet
- Great Axe
- Greatsword
- Hatchet
- Musket
- Rapier
- Spear
- Staff
- Sword and Shield
- Warhammer
Each weapon type scales on a different character skill, which includes stats like Dexterity and Strength, so you may need to reset your skill points when changing your loadout. Thankfully, this can be done for free if you are under level 60.
