The Xbox Wireless Controller Special Edition - Pulse Cipher follows in the footsteps of the Sky Cipher and Ghost Cipher controllers. It once again goes with a transparent design reminiscent of the technology craze from decades ago, but with a bright red shell. The buttons, d-pad, triggers, and grips are all red as well, with the back of the controller going with more of a maroon shade. The controller looks rather impressive, though it is functionally identical to other standard Xbox controllers currently on the market, so those that don't actually need a new one should keep that in mind. Those interested in the new Xbox controller should note that it retails for $74.99. Pre-orders are open now, and the controller will be available on Tuesday, February 4.

The latest see-through Xbox controller is one of its best-looking yet, but there will likely be more on the way. After all, there are still a handful of primary color options Xbox has yet to use with the Cipher line, and one has to imagine it will go through all of them by the time it's all said and done. Considering this, those interested in the transparent Xbox controllers but haven't had their favorite color represented yet may want to wait and see before committing to one of the existing ones.

Of course, gamers that don't want to wait for official Xbox controller releases from Microsoft also have the choice to use the Xbox Design Lab to make their own controllers. However, the transparent options are only available for the Xbox Elite Series controllers through the Design Lab at the time of this writing.
